“Hotel for groups”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I stayed 4 nights in this hotel. I found the staff quite lazy and not very attentive to the customer needs. The rooms are ok but a bit dark, nothing original in to be mentionned. I saw many groups from different nationalities and I think this hotel is more suitable for this kind of business rather than for individuals.
The location is very good only 10 minutes away from the busy Pub Street and it was very enjoyable to relax at the pool after a long day in the Angkor Temples site.
There are cosier hotels around for a cheaper price so I would not particularly recommend this hotel

“Great place to stay, great staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

This is our third stay at the New Angkorland Hotel. With lots of hotels to pick from, we keep coming back due to the location, room quality, and value. The staff will do what is needed to make your stay satisfying. The pool area is relaxing and inviting. It's worth a visit!

Room Tip: The fourth floor is where I like to be for extended stays.

“Comfortable Place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We recently stayed at the New Angkorland Hotel and enjoyed the hotel. Staff were very friendly and obliging. The hotel is situated one street back from the main road and about 1 km from the old town and markets, but this is a good thing, as it is very quiet. It is still very easy to get in to the central markets by Tuk tuk, and only takes a couple of minutes. Rooms were large and the bedding very comfortable. We had 3 rooms for our group, and 2 of them had excellent bathroom facilities (hot water when required, good shower heads and great water pressure). However, the 3rd room had intermittent hot water available for showers, and the attempts to fix the hot water service were not overly successful. The breakfast buffet was adequate, but was inundated by tour groups from around 7.30 am, with dishes not being replenished quickly enough for those who were not required to be out the door by 8am. The selection became very limited after this time. Very curious that there is no lift access to the breakfast restaurant and guests have to walk up a flight of stairs from the 4th floor to get there. This was rather difficult for one of the older members of our group who was having difficulty climbing stairs, but necessary in order to get breakfast.

The spa facilities were rather dated and the towels used to cover the massage beds smelt rather musty. However, the massage itself was good. Certainly, if you are staying in the hotel it is very convenient having the facilities available if you don't want to make the effort to go elsewhere.

The hotel has a pool, which is most refreshing. A few tiles missing in places, but on the whole well maintained and most pleasant after a day exploring the sights. The bar, which is located close to the pool area was quiet, the staff very pleasant and attentive and the cocktails excellent and well presented. Not the cheapest in Siem Reap, but again, convenient if you don't want to venture out.

Overall, a pleasant place to stay and one I would be happy to book again should I return to Siem Reap.

“Off the main drag, but a great stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We found this place by staying at another hotel in the area. The New Angkorland wi-fi kept showing up with a stronger signal than our hotel. We looked out the window, saw the hotel AND pool, and decided to give it a try. The rooms are quite nice -- a good size and the air con works great. The pool is beautiful and has a nice blend of shady and sunny areas.

The hotel is not on Suwitha St, so it is a bit quieter. It is an easy walk to the Angkor Market for groceries. Laundries are nearby. Tuk-tuks are always available, but it is a nice 20-minute walk to Pub Street, if you want some exercise.

As with many hotels in Siem Reap, NAL has a breakfast included. The buffet breakfast is a bit light on western food, but it is all quite tasty. Eggs and omelets are made to order. The coffee is hot AND brewed, not Nescafe.

We love the New Angkorland and will use it as our new home base in Siem Reap.

“Good managers make the establishment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Our last stay in Cambodia, was at this hotel. when we booked in,we were given a good room, however housekeeping was not to this hotel standards or reputation. The front office manager, Mr Yann Samon personally checked our concerns and attended to all our needs with his housekeeping manager. Our exit flight was just before midnight and checkout at 10 am.Mr Samon, allowed us the use of the pool and another room, to have a shower before departing. He and Mr Phin Sonky ( Restaurant manager) and his assistant Narida, gave us the most excellent service and attention, making our stay most enjoyable, instead of a disaster,it is these people that make the establishment and their professional and personal touch. At the time of visiting, this grand hotel was in need of touch up maintenance.

Room Tip: Check your room and report any problems immediately
