After a week of staying Vietnam, arriving to Siem Reap was different. First of all, Cambocia people are warmer, pleasant and you felt different. The airport of Siem Reap is new and very nice. The country is newly developing (lots of hotel constructions, roads, housing, malls) in terms of constructions going on...You must go to Siem Reap now, not LATER! The road to the city is nice.Clean and well developed. However, the downtown is really mix. Real Cambocia: local shops, night market (full of flies, bugs with cheap products and cheap massages, lots of young European people travelling with small money) as well as Kentucky Fried Chicken or Cafe shops. No pavements. Warm people and safe..IT is important.
HOTEL IS STUNNING! HIDDEN GEM IN THE DESERT!
Enterance is a long hall with a beautiful statue at the end. Stunning lobby area! Never experienced a lobby like this hotel in your life! Swinging beds and trays on them! Dark and different. Rooms are gorgeous. Beds are comfortable, a very big sofa, ipad music system, flat tv, bathroom is divided with a sliding glass window with the bedroom area. You can talk to someone or watch tv while you are taking a bubble bath. The iron work of the decoration of the room is stunning. Local iron work are used as a traditional art pieces like armature, shampoo, shower, soap dishes. Breakfast is served in the open courtyard. Excellent food. At night, they have fire lit in the courtyard. Beautiful scenery. We also had a lunch before the takeoff there. Excellent serving and taste as well..The gift shop is also lovely and right price. If you really buy nice Cambodia materials such as silk and art pieces, stop at ARTISAN at the Siem Reap airport. The local food is great. Cambodia has a better taste than Vietnam because they use lots of spices such as lemongrass, coriander and others. People nice, food delicious, Angor Wat is wonderful, Apsara Dance Show is great along with the food, We Love everything in Siem Reap and Hotel De La Paix....You make sure that at night long sleeves and long pants at the visit of Night Market. Flies and bugs alot. Have a medicine with you. Despite flies at night, It is worth to go this country..Hotel is stunning and happy to stay there!
