“Very nice hotel...”

I did a trip through Thailand, Laos and Cambodia and this is the hotel I stayed in at the end of my trip before flying out. The hotel itself was in a good location. It was in a quieter street of Siam Reap however walking distance to the main part of town, "Bar Street" and the FCC. The lobby was open air and nicely furnished. The rooms were decent and had a balcony. One night I walked into the bathroom and found a gecko in there (very common in Asia to no fault of the hotel) and called reception who sent someone promptly to get it out.

The hotel has a pool which we made use of and it was nice to jump in after a long, sweaty day of sightseeing. The breakfast was average especially if you have dietary requirements, but adequate.

There were two faults I found with this hotel. One, I needed to use internet access with a printer so I went down to the lobby and they set me up in the business centre. However, the desktop was very old, the internet really slow and the printer didn't work. I told them I was disappointed but they still charged me. Also, one of the days we decided to eat lunch by the pool, and it literally took them an hour and fifteen minutes to bring us a sandwich and chips. We didn't eat there again. There are loads of restaurants in town, and the FCC is well worth going to if you want western food.

The hotel is nice but don't expect a fantastic place - although after some of the hotels I stayed at on my trip, it seemed pretty good at the time!

“Lovely hotel, great location and staff”

The room are nice, staff excellent, well located - close to main street but one block back so no traffic noise.

Breakfasts were OK, buffet plus chef cooking eggs.

WiFi - other have mentioned this USD7 for 24 hours, speed was about average for a hotel in Asia.

I'd happily stay here on my next trip to Siem Reap.

“Very enjoyable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Our last 3 nights in a 21 day Explore trip to Vietnam and Cambodia and this was the best hotel. Well situated; good breakfasts and best of all and decent sized pool - much needed after visiting the temples.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the pool; others above restaurant not so good!

“Nice!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We enjoyed our stay here. It's in a great location - easy to walk to the shopping areas and markets. Pool is small and was filled with obnoxious kids, and as other reviewers mention - not many lounges near the pool. Room was great - although DARK. With only 2 lamps and a light by the door, we had a hard time seeing anything once it was evening and we didn't have sunlight peeking through the window. Spa was nice - appreciated the free 15 min foot massage and went to back for a few other massages as well. Breakfast was good - lots to choose from. Main complaint would be no wi-fi in the rooms. Everywhere I went in Cambodia advertised free wi-fi .... but at this hotel we only had it in the lobby. Would've been nice to have it in the rooms as well. Drinks at the pool bar were cheap - and staff were all very friendly. I would def. stay here again!

“Good location, good value for money”

This was my second stay at Casa Angkor. The Casa is in a great location. It is very close to the main tourist shopping and restaurant area, but is in a lovely quiet street. A couple of tips for other travellers - 1) The pool is quite small and it was usually difficult to get a lounge. We discovered that the hotel directly behind - the Prince DÁngkor - has a gorgeous huge saltwater pool and that non-hotel guests can use it for $8 per adult and $5 per child. Towels and the use of the changing area are included. 5 of us spent a fantastic afternoon there and were practically the only people there. 2) I booked a suite because I was travelling with 2 children. I understand there is only 1 suite and it was fairly depressing - at the back of the hotel and therefore dark with small windows and a view over a roof and the hotel behind. I downgraded to a twin room - the rooms in the front of the hotel with balconies are the nicest in my opinion. We got rooms through Agoda for $39 for a twin room and I think the Casa was pretty good value. Sure it is a bit tired, but it is more than adequate for that price. The spa was lovely and we had good massages there each day. The FCC just around the corner had a superb buffet dinner.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room. Don't stay in the suite - it is a waste of money.
