“Friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Not far from the main tourist area (but away from its hustle and bustle) this hotel has free breakfast, a nice pool, and excellent service. They can help you arrange transport for local sites and for boat service elsewhere. Good wi-fi. Was a nice base to explore the surrounding temples. Rooms have air conditioning, . The orange drapes cast a lovely orange glow in the morning and the four post bed was comfortable. Our room had a small bathtub and shower.

On one day we took advantage of a massage at the hotel, although the rooms are right off the pool and the lack of music and sounds of noisy children outside hurt the experience a little.

Room Tip: Floors away from the pool will be quieter

“I'm always happy here”

I've been here more than a dozen times so feel able to judge.

The plusses are: lovely rustic feel with plenty of plants, nice chlorine-free pool and the best baguettes in Siem Reap for breakfast.

There's no lift so you could find clambering 3 floors up, and the wi-fi is somewhat erratic in its coverage. There's nothing in the fridges but it does save you time at checkout not having to be questioned on your use of it!

Overall it's a lovely, good value mid-range hotel and has a the quirky feel of staying in your slightly eccentric uncle's home. It's popular with French tourists as the owner and many of the staff speak the language well.

The location is now well provided with eating and drinking options, as well as photo processing shops and the like. It's just a pity they don't make the restaurant more attractive for meals other than the wonderful breakfast so it's almost always empty.

“A lovely, calm place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

This hotel is a very lovely oasis in the center of Siem Reap. It is very close to the downtown and the night market. The room was large, well air-conditioned and comfortable. The bathroom had a tub and a separate large shower. The restaurant had substantial breakfasts with American style dishes that were well prepared and we also ate several dinners here and they were reasonably priced and delicious. The outdoor dining room was delightful to eat in with the plants and orchids. The pool was small and looked very refreshing although we didn't use it. The staff was extremely helpful and sent us out with guides and drivers who were well informed and personable. It was a pleasure to stay here.

Room Tip: We stayed in the pool house. One of the rooms was adjacent to neighbors whose rooster and cooking fi...

“It doesn't get better than this - for the price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

My sister and I stayed at l'Auberge Mont Royal for three nights, in mid-December 2011, along with her 8-year-old twins and my 17-year-old. Mr. Prim is a fabulous host. We were picked up at the airport by two tuk-tuk drivers - including the imcomparable Pheng Phannara (Ra) who became our tour guide for the next three days! l'Auberge is a true oasis - a lovely, clean pool surrounded by banana plants and hanging orchids - a generous breakfast is included, and - after a couple of "misses" at over-priced restaurants elsewhere in Siem Reap - we ate all our meals at the hotel. The chef is a true find, and the open-bar kitchen meant we could watch as she prepared our meals - and learn a little Cambodian cooking as we sipped our mango lassies.
I would stay there again and my only misgiving in recommending this Auberge is that it might become difficult to make a booking in future!

“Very good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

We stayed in Siem Reap for 4 nights and loved the Auberge Mont Royal. We were picked up at the airport and the owner Mr. Prim introduced himself on our arrival and was of great help our whole stay. Service was terrific - we had a nice large room facing the pool with nice bath and good air conditioning - Breakfast was great too. Lovely leafy courtyards with load of orchids everywhere. Also found Mr Prim's band of taxi, and tuk tuk drivers really helpful and reasonable.
Felt like we were staying with friends - easy walk to downtown restaurant area. Super value.
