I have just returned from a 2day trip to Siem Reap.
I must admit the temples were a great sight, however, I wish to forewarned travellers about the hotel I was recomended - Molina Hotel.
I was confirmed to stay there for 2 nights at usd10 a nite which i thought was areal bargain..... however, when i got there, there were no such rooms available according to the female manager....
no problem, i was told i had to pay at least usd15 for a small size room. being single and only for 2 nights, i checked in. only to find out that the bathroom was not functioning...
they moved me to an upstair room and was told it would cost me usd3 more...
after making a fuss they told me, i could have it for usd15 a nite, same rate.
in that new room, i found a choked sink and the hot water control was either too hot or too cold....
also, i woke up in the middle of the nite only to find out that the aircon was off and realise there was a power failure.
the electricity was up another 2 hours later and i was told that their generator was acting up....
what makes the matter worse was that I was charged for a coke that i did not consumed....
although the manager saw me carrying about 10 cans of drinks (they cost 25 cents a can compared to the hotel's usd1.00 per can)...
as i was in a hurry, i unwillingly, paid the extra dollar for a canned drink which i did not consumed and told the manager i will be doing a writeup on the internet about this but she seemed unrelented....and expressionless...
but on the other hand, i was happy to pay the tuk2 transport usd2 trip for a ride to the bus station which cost only a dollar....
