“Good hotel, a little bit far”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We were upgraded to a suite upon check in, which was a nice surprise. The room was enormous!

We had trouble with the hot water in the shower a few times, there were stains on our couch, but overall, the room was in good condition with many beautiful wood furnishings.

We wanted to use the swimming pool and the spa services, but spent most of our time seeing the sights of Angkor Wat instead. There is free wifi and bottled water in the rooms, which we appreciated.

Breakfast buffet caters to Asian tour groups, so don't expect pancakes, hashbrowns, bacon and sausage at this hotel.

Staff was mostly proficient in English, though they did think we booked a spa reservation for 6pm the day we were scheduled to check out by noon.

If we come back to Siem Reap, we'll look for a hotel closer to the downtown area. There are a lot of hotels on the same road as the Ree Hotel, but it just seems a bit far from attractions like Pub Street, the Night Market and Angkor Wat. We witnessed a motorcycle crash on the main road going back to our hotel after dinner one night and were quite nervous about traveling by tuk tuk at night afterwards.

REE HOTEL Recommended
The Staff are amazing as was the food, facilities and pool.
There is free bottle water in room.
Warning, don't use the “wrong bottled water” from the room fridge, if you do you'll find US $9 per bottle added to you bill upon departure. I am sure the price would have been printed in the room, so my mistake the $9 water was the only bad thing so that’s a great recommendation, yes?

Hotel faultless and loved everything about Siem Reap and Angkor Wat.
So much to do really needed to stay for seven nights.
WE will be back and will stay at the REE Hotel

Don’t miss the "Must SEE"
1] CAMBODIAN CULTURAL VILLAGE at just US $11 per person for ALL DAY and ALL the shows and only 5 minutes away from hotel
2] FLOATING VILLAGE just $20 US PER BOAT [1- 20 passengers] They do sun-set trip 3+ hours Just in time to get back to;
3] “KOULEN 11” APSARA Cambodian traditional and classical dance and all you can eat [drinks extra] in town just US $12 pp. buffet open 7.00 pm Dancers are paid about $ US 20 per month, so if you have your photo taken with them after the show $1 tip would be nice. Then after go to nearby;
4] NIGHT MARKET, is a must Beware of 9.25 silver being passed off as solid, most is silver plate. They even weigh it, don’t be fooled. However, great place to buy souvenirs but haggle, it’s expected Try foot massage by had and fish.
5] ARTISANS D’ANGKOR another must see, FREE guided tour [small tip expected $1] You will be shown stone carving and wood carving at various stages. Great tour about one hour, don’t forget your camera. The also do the carving for the Angkor Wat restoration. The do have expensive gift shop.
As we only stayed two days we must have missed a whole bunch of stuff.

The best quality-price ratio I've ever seen. Spacious room (furniture is not new, but it doesn't matter), friendly staff, good pool and very good location.

“Very comfortable, excellent value - luxurious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

Thanks to a favorable exchange rate, you can get 5 star value for a 1 star price. We paid about $38/night including tax for a rather luxurious stay. A fairly sumptuous (by American standards) buffet was included, with two chefs - omelet and asian soup, with delicious fruit, standard american fare, korean and chinese cuisine. The hotels location is on the edge of town, but it's only a $2 and 5-7 minute ride by Tuk-Tuk to get to down-town.

The hotel can supply a tour-guide and driver for the day for a reasonable price. Tour guide pricing is a somewhat controlled market with the prices set by the Cambodian government. A cheaper option is to hire your own tuk-tuk guide for the day. I highly recommend a wonderful English-speaking Tuk Tuk driver - Davuth - his email is amsedavuth at yahoo dot com. Depending on what you want to do, this option will cost you $10-15 for the day. We went with Davuth to a floating village on a day-trip.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower was great. The shampoo and soap was pretty good, although no conditioner was provided. There was an in-room fridge, and one day housekeeping left fresh fruit in our room. The hotel also provided unlimited free bottled water. Our room had a great view of the pool with a HUGE balcony.

One of the last features of the hotel that I rather enjoyed was the massive winding staircase. It has a very elegant feel and we used it as much as possible.

There was no fitness center at the hotel from what I could discern, but it's possible to go jogging on the nearby roads if you can put up with an uneven surface. Bring a stick to ward off dogs, as I was chased a little by one female dog protecting her puppies.
