“Warm place with personal touch!”

This review is long overdue. Stayed at Soria Moria Boutique hotel in September 2010 with 2 friends. We went to Siem Reap to see Angkor Wat and the other temples. We travelled 12 hours by bus from Saigon and we had arranged for a pick-up service from the hotel. We thought the bus ride will only take 8-10 hours but the hotel driver waited for us nonetheless. He spoke good English as well as the other staff of the hotel. The driver also became our tour guide the following day. As we were very tired from the long bus ride, all we can think of was restful sleep in a comfortable bed. Soria Moria did more than just that! The room was very spacious (we stayed at a room on the ground floor) with 3 single beds which was very comfortable with soft pillows. The bathroom was very clean and provided complete toiletries. The buffet breakfast was good and offered different choices. Our booking came with complimentary dinner which was served at the jacuzzi/bar area overlooking the city. Not really a great view but the cool evening breeze was relaxing. But what makes this the best place was the excellent service from the owner who chatted with us (and with the other guests) to their staff who were, practically, at our beck and call. I'm planning another trip to Siem Reap and I would definitely and in a heartbeat stay again at Soria Moria Boutique Hotel!

“Wouldn't Stay Anywhere Else in Siem Reap”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights and loved it. The staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The location is fantastic, a 5 minute stroll to pub street and the old market but away from the noise. Breakfast is great and so is the $1 tapas on wednesday nights. We also enjoyed having a drink on the rooftop bar with a view of the city. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and would be back in a flash.

“Good warm experience and in keeping with responsible travel.”

Great locals working here all super friendly and helpful. Workers have part ownership of this norweigan start up hotel. Roof top bar great. Breakfast great. More like a high standard regular hotel rather than 'boutique'. Positive experience knowing our custom will support local empowerment projects in the Siem Reap region. Super day trips booklet in room for info on what to do.

“$1 Tapas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We didn't stay here but found it when we wandered past one night. We had the $1 tapas special in the al fresco area of the hotel. We were impressed by the quality of the food and the service while we were there. If I ever come back I would definately try and come back for the tapas again.

“Isn't it good, Norwegian Wood.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

This Norwegian run property has been ranked "best in its class" by the premier travel writer for Cambodia, and he isn't wrong! From its superb location, to the immaculate rooms, all the way through to a staff that cant do enough for you, I highly recommend the Soria Moria. Its just one of those places where you think to yourself, "They have just got it so right."

Oh, I should also mention that the value for money is absolutely amazing!

You don't have to believe me, but I am a retired Innkeeper who ran a 5 star rated establishment in Canada for more than 15 years. I would return in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: I was on the second floor, but all rooms appeared to be good. No noise at all at night.
