My daughter and I were here recently for 1 night. Having spent many nights in other accommodations that are part of the Country Inn and Suites chain, this particular structure appears to have originally been a different hotel that was re-conditioned/re-named at some point.
When we arrived, the person who handled the check-in was pleasant, our reservation was found easily, and our room was ready; it was decent-sized and included a large flat-screen TV, wet bar, microwave, and under-the-counter refrigerator. While the internet was definitely sporadic, everything else worked as expected. In addition to the sleeping area, there was also a sitting area with a pull-out couch and an easy chair. The furnishings looked slightly worn, but were generally acceptable. Other than a spot on the carpet, the room appeared to be clean and the linens looked fresh. We did, however, find an empty box of candy and a candy wrapper from a previous guest between the bedskirt and the base of one of the beds. My major concern regarding the room was that the security lock that was attached to the upper portion of the doorframe was missing the arm that keeps the door from opening more than just a few inches when it's in use.
With the exception of the tub, the bathroom was clean. We were provided with small containers of toiletries and a sufficient number of towels. When I looked into the tub, I found a hair that was definitely neither mine nor my daughter's and what appeared to be a dirty shoeprint. Because it is a whirlpool tub, potential guests should be aware that its sides are extremely high. Some individuals may find it difficult or impossible to get in and out of it safely due to the height.
I didn't use the pool, but my daughter enjoyed it.
While one of the standard amenities at Country Inn and Suites is complimentary cookies offered in the lobby, this location did not have any. Instead, there was a sign at the reception desk which listed several snack items that were being sold. Specifically, I remember that ice cream sandwiches were being sold for $2.00 each.
The breakfast consisted of make-your-own waffles, egg patties, sausage links, potatoes, 4 types of cold cereal, oatmeal, bread, blueberry mini-muffins, various small danishes, bagels, apples, and customary beverages and condiments. However, bacon and hard-boiled eggs, both of which were listed on the hotel's website as being part of the breakfast, were not provided. The website also stated that "assorted breads" were available; the assortment consisted solely of white bread. Additionally, according to the recording on the reservation line for Country Inn and Suites, every hotel's breakfast includes yogurt. There were no containers of yogurt. While there was a juice machine, there was no milk machine. The milk was served from a carafe on the counter. Normally when this is done, the carafe is placed in a bucket of ice to keep the milk continuously chilled. Here, however, there was no ice. I don't think that this is a healthy practice.
In part of the hall that led to some of the rooms, the carpeting had waves in it; this could present a potential safety issue for those with visual and/or mobility concerns.
All in all, while it's not the worst place in which I've ever stayed, there is definitely room for improvement in several areas. Since there are other accommodations in the vicinity, I probably would not choose to stay there again.
