“cheap, cheap, cheap”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2011

We were book here by a travel agent and were very disappointed when we arrived and were shown our room. The front in uninviting and so were all the rooms we saw. The bathroom had a broken floor waste, a hole you could twist your ankle in. And the wiring to the shower head heater came through a large hole in the wall. We asked for another room and it was slightly better. Can't comment on the breakfast as we left too early next morning. Cheap and dingy, it needs a good overhaul. On the plus side it is in a good spot and has one computer for internet.
We stayed across the road when we returned to Santa Cruz a few days later as one night in Bibosi was enough for us.

“No frills, basic hotel with a great location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 April 2011

This hotel has a fantastic location. The front desk was polite and helpful. The room we had (17) was small, but adequate. The room and bathroom were clean although the curtains looked like they haven't been washed in at least 10 years. It was super quiet. No noise from either the street or other guests.

“Basic hotel with good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2009

This is a serviceable hotel near the center in Santa Cruz. It is good value for your money at 70 bolivianos for a single. The rooms are what you'd expect in Bolivia but coming to Bolivia I would assume you'd know that. One thing I remember is that the hotel had an awning that stretched out to the curb and getting off the cab in the middle of the night in a terrific downpour, I would have been drenched without it. They also let me store my suitcase while I went to Chiquitania region.

“Hotel Bibosi is ok for just the "basics".”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2006

I have stayed at Hotel Bibosi 2 times and found both times pleasant enough. I am a single woman traveling alone (visiting friends in Santa Cruz). This hotel has just the "basics" for a traveler with no "extras" and all at a low price. The rooms I have stayed in were VERY small, but basically all I needed was a room to sleep in as I was gone most everyday with my friends. If I was traveling with my family I might think about picking a different hotel. I found the staff pleasant enough, the rooms clean enough and I have never had anything stolen while I was there. You are allowed a small breakfast free of charge...(bread, juices and coffee) and they have one computer next to the front desk with internet. The only thing I didn't like were the showers. There is no "play" in the adjusting of the water temperature...you kind of just get what you get. I have stayed at Hotel Yotau and Hotel Cortez also. If I had the money, I would go Hotel Yotau all the way! That hotel is awesome!

“Stay Away”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2006

We arrived in Santa Cruz on 7/03/06 and had a 7 hour lay
over before our flight to Cochabamba. We needed a hotel to
stay in for one night on 7/20/06 on our way back to the US.
We had a taxi take us into town to check out a nice hotel
to reserve. We told him to take us to Hotel Bibosi (taxi charged
us $7 american dollars, its a good idea to have some bolivians on you when you arrive). There was no review on this hotel, so
I wanted others to know and not waste their time. We had heard Bibosi was clean and inexpensive from one website. We were family of four with two small children. The taxi driver didn't want to
take us there (said its not good), this was not a good sign. He dropped us off at Hotel Chanciller ($55 a night), but it was not that great either. Look cleaned, but old and small hotel. We walked over to Hotel Bibosi. It was a few blocks away in the center of the city (not a good area). It was one row house by itself. It was very run down and very unpleasant looking.
This is like a hostel (for a single guy) not a hotel and definetly
not for a family.

We got very lucky in finding out about Hotel Cortez from a travel agency in Cochabamba. It included round trip transfer from the hotel, very nice room (separate area for queen bed), beautiful bathroom and a resort-like setting. The pool was closed, but the patio in the back was beautiful. Even had a playground for the kids. We had an early flight and they had breakfast ready for us at 6am with transfer ready by 6:30am. It was only $50 a night and was in a great area for walking/eating dinner the night before.
Will definetly return there for a longer stay next time!!:)
