This is supposedly one of the best address in Santa Cruz (5 stars) but the hotel did not match our expectations for the rate charged (150 US$). The place is very clean but would only get max 4 stars internationally. The standard rooms are a little small and would usually cost below 100 US$ elsewhere. We were told upon check-in that there is free wifi in the rooms but there was only wifi at the lobby which was very disappointing. Overall nice but no value for money.

Good service in the cafeteria. The temperature dropped to 6 degrees. The hotel has no heaters. It rained, as soon as you left your room you were received by the cold rain not enough cover for clients walking to the front desk. While staying inside the room, I had to remain clothed and cover myself with a blanket. The rooms were clean. The rooms need a facelift, they look the same they did 15 years ago. The bathroom was clean. The bathroom needs a facelift fast.

I stayed the week of July 9th, and this is not my first time, I have always stayed before. However I found in the most dramatic way the lack of security and responsibility of the staff/owners from the Hotel Los Tajibos. My colleague went out of the room for a walk and around 8:30pm he fell into the pool, and drowned. He was found by their security floating on the pool around 10:50pm, and NO ONE saw anything. They even admitted to the police that they do not have cameras around the pool, and also have no signs indicating the lack of lifeguards. This hotel has families with kids, etc. I could not believe the lack of security and how cavalier they where about the incident. I AM NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN

My husband I travel to La Paz every few years but this was our first trip to tropical Santa Cruz. We stayed at Los Tajibos and had a very good experience. The rooms are a little dated but still very clean. The property itself is beautiful with lovely gardens and a pretty pool. It was obvious the staff worked very hard to keep the grounds beautiful. I never really saw any employee (except the restaurant) at Los Tajibos who wasn't working diligently to provide a great experience. The housekeeping staff was wonderful and accomodated us on a few extra requests. We also got great recommendations for area shopping and restaurants from the front desk staff who were so friendly. They also have a nice spa as well as a great business center.

The only reason I didn't give Los Tajibos a five is because of the restaurant. The service is terrible and needs major improvement. We had several bad experiences with the servers including one just walking off to another table while we were ordering. Many of the waiters were either rude or just helpless. If Los Tajibos improves the service of the restaurant, I will give it a five.
