“only for WE and holidays”

I stayed in this hotel from Monday until Friday on a business trip with colleagues. It quickly became clear that this hotel caters for guests during the week-end and the holiday season. During normal week days the hotel goes into sleeping mode for lack of customers. The pool isn’t cleaned, breakfast starts half an hour late (if you have your day planned with meetings, this is important) and there wasn’t even bread. Friday morning staff stepped into gear to prepare everything for the week-end, bread was available for the first time during the week, eggs too and the pool was finally cleaned.

My room was spacious and very clean, but without telephone or TV, and yet they claim to have 4 stars. WIFI/ internet is available in some of the rooms, in the dining area and the pool area and is working well if local management isn’t using up all the bandwidth using skype in the dining area. There is 1 TV in the dining area, which is used for and by management and their family and friends. The food was ok, but half of the menu wasn’t available. Although the hotel accepts credit cards, the system didn’t work. The hotel has unpredictable electricity supply problems, which sometimes means no hot water for the electrical showers, no lights and no internet.

Basically we felt that we weren’t welcome in this hotel, that they weren’t in the slightest interested in our business and that we were disturbing management during their week-end from Monday until Friday. My advice would be to shut this place down during the week. We won’t be returning.

“We were robed at the hotel room while sleeping”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2008

Suposely this was the best hotel in Villa Tunari - Chapare. Room rate was 66 usd per night. 3 Families were our group

We explicitly requested to have rooms where the terrace window faces the swiminig pool because you have a nice view and a quick access to the pool and restaurant areas. We made this request at the time of the reservation. knowing that it was a uncrowded weekend we were told that they had the rooms we requeste available.

We arrived, as planned on Friday August 22nd in the evening around 2030. When we got there we were placed in rooms in the back facing the access road and next to the back of the kitchen. When we complained about the rooms, the admin told us that it was too late to change and they did not have any clean rooms facing the pool despite the fact that we explicitly requested them.

It was agreed that we would change rooms the next day in the morning.

When we went to bed that night, we had all our valuable stuff (smart phone, digital camera, gps, fm transivers, ipod, head lamp, etc.) in a case that we carefully monitor.

The next morning, the case was gone along with a first aid kit. We did not leave the room during the night and we noticed that the screen door that we made sure it was closed at nigh was open.

When we placed the complaint to the hotel admin, they simply showed us their "hotel rules" were it explicitly said that we should keep our valuables in the hotel safe. These "rules" were not showed to us at registration time but in any case, we did not consider unsafe to have our valuables with us while we were asleep.

On top of that, the hotel admin did not help us at all with our complain nor simply apoligized with what happened.

Further more, when we mentioned the screen door being open in the morning, they told us that there were dogs and cats that could do that. Where they thinking we were idiots?

We filed the case at the police station to make sure that now the hotel admin can no longer say that they never ever had a robery there.

it was not our intention to make the hotel pay for our valuables but being one of the best hotels we were expecting to at least receive an apology and maybe even not charge for the stay.

I would not recomend anybody to go there at all. There are other hotels that are not as luxurios but the attention to guests is 1000 times better.

We will never stay at the hotel again.

Please feel free to contact us for additioanl details if you wish.
