It's a place in Cotonou in Benin Republic where luxury is given to you before you demand. Spacious and good for outdoor gathering.

For sure i didn't expect so much for this old hotel previously managed by Starwood. However, i haven't been really surprised by what i've had....

The property is quite well located along the beach but it's not really recommended to walk along the ocean cause it's pretty unsafe. Prefer the pool if you wanna relax even if the pool longers are not perfectly clean and the water pretty cold. Personnaly, i'm not a fan of this round pool but it's big enough for swimming.

Let's back inside and the management should really think about a complete renovation/refurnishment... The carpets in the corridor and the rooms are dirty just like the curtains. Taking a shower with a disguting bath curtain sticky to your skin turn into a nightmare and prepare an anti bactery gel to clean the toilets... But a good thing is the quite efficient A/C system. Maybe they repaired it cause i've red some previous feedbacks talking about problems with the A/C but haven't had any problem... You'll find as well a satellite TV, an OK bed but actually didn't really wanna do a deep check and surprisingly a free cable internet system which was working...

The hotel facilities are very standard with a bar, a few boutiques, a very average business center, two restaurants not very "yummy" and with a very limited choice, a night club with a few local ladies looking for something else than dancing and a depressing lobby fortunately with a guy playing piano at night and giving a bit of atmosphere...

The breakfast was slightly better than what i've expected and the staff, even if very slow, is quite nice and have a good sense of humor.

I absolutely can't recommend this place but i guess there is no option if you really need to go to benin.

Hotel Marina is a lovely hotel in Benin Republic. It has spacious rooms, nice reception, nice bar and more importantly, a swimming pool you won't want to miss. Its passage to the beach makes the beach a stroll away and being an International Hotel, you wont lack culture from all over. The buffet keeps the meals simple and interesting and the people are friendly.

Are you coming to Cotonou, Hotel Marina is a good shot, Yes fairly expensive than some other good hotels in the town but worth it i think.

Was very disappointed with the management of this hotel. My credit card was charged weeks after I left (and had already settled the bill) for more than 100 dollars. I called the hotel every day for several weeks and was not able to resolve this unauthorized charge on my card. I was always told someone would call or email me back but i got very few responses. When I finally did get an email response, it did not explain what the charge was for. Unhelpful staff and small rooms (smelled like smoke, shower didn't have a curtain, tv didn't work). The only positive thing I would add is that the hotel facilities (including the pool, restaurant, and outside areas) were nice.
