This five star hotel does not provide value for money and lacks quality assurance. Rooms show signs of lack of maintenance, towels are worn out. Staff at the reception is forgetful and only service oriented on the surface. On 8 nights of stay two were without airconditioning. Horrible in the hot and humid climate in rooms without the alternative of a fan combined with a musquitonet.Promises to make some kind of gesture to compensate were not kept. Problems with internet provider were not communicated. Even at reduced rate of 120 EURO not including breakfast this hotel does not provide value for money.

So lets be frank, this hotel is never going to win awards. But, it's in Benin - hardly the centre of the universe - and given the challenges of operating in West Africa this place does a reasonable job.

Some pro's :-

1. English speaking staff
2. Rooms perfectly clean and comfortable, albeit not over the top luxury (it is only a Novotel after all). Good supply of hot water in teh shower,
3. Nice quite location in a good part of town with good access to airport
4. Nice pool
5. Reasonable and free internet
6. Good security - not that it is really neededin Benin however.

Some downsides :-

1. Slightly expensive for what it is (but, the is West Africa - everything is expensive here!)
2. Slight smell of damp in the communal areas (again, a common West Africa problem)
3. No gym

Overall, if I retrun to Cotonou, I will stay here again. One thing to bear in mind is that the cheaper Novotel Inn (can't remember the exact name) is on the same grounds and shares the same facilities, so may be worth staying at for someone on a tighter budget

I ll advise you to go to Novotel. It s actually the best in Cotonou.
i tried many of them and my best choice is Orisha Cotonou. The rooms are cleaned.
the restaurant is excellent. there is nice bar with good coktails.
they are well trained for meetings and biz coktails.
