My husband and I booked a weekend at the Glynn House for the weekend of October 28th. At 299/night, we looked forward to visiting a section of New Hampshire we were unfamiliar with and spending a relaxing weekend in a luxurious inn. We chose the Glynn House because it's pet friendly and part of the "Distinguished Inns of North America Registry." The suite we stayed at was virtually without heat. We got up in the night and put sweaters on to keep warm. The thermostats were broken, apparently (or turned off?), and the 10'stretch of electric baseboard wasn't enough to heat the 3 rooms. The propane fireplace (complete with trash in it!) provided no ambient heat. I guess it's just supposed to be pretty. No heat in the bathroom, and the water temperature that night and the next morning can best be described as tepid. When I went over to the main inn at 7:30 a.m. Saturday to tell them we were checking out, having spent a miserable night, the innkeeper(Ingrid) was rude. She never apologized or offered to do anything to correct the situation. Her only response was, "I told you the thermostat was broken." If she'd told me before we left home, we would have gone elsewhere. A mini blind was missing, which she told us she'd replace while we were out that evening. She didn't - we had to hang a blanket in the window to get some privacy. This is a terrible place, with no attention to details. For 299/night, it's a sore disappointment. Go elsewhere!!
