We exchange through II into Fairmont Hot Spring Estate one bedroom unit during spring break. The drive from Butte airport was about 15 miles. We pickup grocery at the Walmart near the airport which turn out to be a good idea because there is no other grocery store near the resort. The resort was very easy to get to. Just a few miles off the highway. The scenery from the drive was very beautiful with hugh mountain and horse ranch everywhere. The weather was cold but the road was in good condition.
Check-in was good. We got there at one thirty but the unit was not ready. We have lunch at the Hot Spring and the food was very good. Clam chowder is very delicious. The price was very reasonable. The common area are well kept. The resort was very busy during Easter weekend. The pools are crowds on the weekend but very, very quiet during the week. We tried both the pools, hot spring and the water slide. They are all great. I will go back just for the hot spring. We use that at least 2 times a day. There is small snack bar by the pool that open until nine PM. Lifeguard is also on duty until nine. The resort also has small gift shop, gym, 3 restaurant with slot machine, tennis and basketball court, golf, putt putt and a very cute zoo with farm animals. You can purchase a large bag of food at the gift shop for $1 to feed the animals. The estate portion of the resort is a short drive or a long walk away. Not recommended in this cold weather.
The one bedroom loft unit we have is very large. The king bed is upstairs with a full bath. The living area has a queen pull out, large flat-screen TV, gas fireplace, 2 recliner, large dining table for six and a counter area sit 2. There is storage area all over the unit. There is also washer and dryer. The full kitchen has with full size refrigerator, stove, microwave, oven, toaster and coffee machine. It also has all the pots, pans, plates, bowls and utensil you will need to fix a meal. Everything is in great condition. The heating unit is very comfortable with individual setting for every area. The back porch area has a gas grill for each unit and table and chairs for outside sitting. We love it. The unit is also has a week supply of detergent and dishwasher liquid. We find that very nice since the resort is not close to grocery shop. We have a few maintenance issue which was taken care of right away. The check-in area has many brochure for the area and free books and movie rental.
We drive to a very cute and small time with a few sapphire mining shop. That was a lot of fun. There is also many cute restaurant and shops. There is a very good vintage car museum. We drive to Yellowstone National Park 2 times. That was incredible. The Gardiner entrance is open year round and that was amazing. The West Yellowstone entrance is only accessible by walking and biking. We rent bikes for $25 a day and just ride in. They do not charge a fee in April and the road is well pow and only park vehicle is allow. That was the best biking trip we have. The roads are very level and the view is amazing with so many animals. We also went to the Grizzlies and Wolf Discovery Center. That was very nice. Drove to Glacier National Park for one day. That was a much, much longer drive.
