“Perfect Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We have been going to Fairmont Hot Springs for years, we just love it , we always go in the Winter when our work is slow, this year we stayed for 2 nights and thats how we are going to stay for now on, we live a 150 miles away so staying 2 nights is the way to go for us.. The staff is so friendly and helpful and we always have great meals and very clean rooms, and the view is great! The pools are GREAT!, I enjoy both inside and outside pools .

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are quieter and the view is beatiful.

“Nice hot springs, outdated rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

This place is spendy, in terms of what you get. The room rates are high, and the rooms are badly in need of updates (and in the main building often loud).
That being said, we go here, as a family, once annually. It is quite family friendly with an outside play area/playground and goats the kids can feed. Lots of outdoor area for kids to run. The kids also LOVE the slide at this hot springs.
The restaurants in the hotel are just okay. We found a great, old school steakhouse in Anaconda that is worth doing again!
I also feel like Fairmont kind of "nickel and dimes" you. As much as you pay for the room, and then a pass for the slide...they want your kids to buy another slide pass for the next morning. I think the slide pass should be valid until 11 a.m. checkout and have shared this opinion with the hotel.
Chico Hot Springs in Pray, MT is much nicer for adults (beautiful restaurant, great bar...drinks window to the pools. Check that out if you like hot springs).

Thank you for your continued loyalty to Fairmont Hot Springs Resort. In your review, you indicated your last stay at Fairmont was nearly a year ago (April 2011). If you return this April for your annual visit, I think you will be pleasantly surprised to find that all of our guestrooms have been completely remodeled. This includes, new beds, new bedding, new furniture, new drapery, new flat panel Tv's, new microwaves, new refrigerators, new lighting and the rooms have been completely repainted and topped off with crown molding. Its completely new and has been well received by recent guests.

Your review also indicated concerns about the fee for the waterslide. Fairmont has decided not price the waterslide into the guestroom rate, because the overwhelming majority of guests do not have an interest in using he waterslide, and thus we have decided to continue the use of the waterslide as an ala-carte amenity, similar to our golf course. If Fairmont were to build all of the amenities into the room price, guests would be forced to pay for items they would never take advantage of.

We do offer a wide selection of packages that include the waterslide, at a discounted price. Other packages include golf packages, romance packages and ski packages. As for Fairmont's overall rate, its currently $145 per night, which is very reasonable for a premium Montana resort. Other major Montana resorts regularly charge rates that exceed $200 per night, in fact some local Best Western have rates that currently exceed Fairmont.

We do hope you will visit us again, as much has changed since your last visit and I believe you will be pleasantly surprised. We greatly appreciate your feedback.

Sincerely,

Steve Luebeck

“Christmas Party”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

My daughter asked me to babysit her newborn for her husband's Christmas Party @ Fairmont. We decided to get a suite let our younger daughter bring a friend and have our own party @ a party. The in-laws thought it sounded like fun so the they got a room themselves. My daughter was across the hall from us. The suite worked out perfect, we had a rocking chair for the baby. We had a room that was tastfully decorated, we had plenty of room for all of us to be comfortable. We spent sometime in the lobby with the spectacular Christmas Tree. The girls had a great time swimming. We all had such a wonderful time we decided to make it an annual event. We are going back in February for our own romantic get away. The staff was wonderful. The entire Hotel was so beautiful and festive. We live in Butte and we all remarked how lucky we are to have such a beautiful resort so close to us. We plan to visit more often. Hats off to the entire Mangement and staff. It truly is for us the "Perfect Getaway that is not far away"

“Perfect for our Family Reunion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

We had over 90 family members attend our family reunion in July. The staff informed us that there were at least 3 other reunions and a wedding going on in the same weekend. I have to say that we didn't even notice. The staff was all very attentive to our needs and went out of their way to accomodate us. The rooms are pricey as is the food but there was plenty of activities for family members of all ages. Some of rooms are a bit shabby but many of them have gotten upgrades which make them much better. During the day the pool is busy but after dark it is very quiet. Guest that stay in the hotel get 24 hour access to the pool.
The facilities are tired but the staff made up for any of the downfalls.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that has been updated.

“It has potential, but sadly misses the mark!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

I had high hopes for this hotel, especially considering how much they charge for rooms. They have made a few upgrades to the rooms (flat screens, a few new furniture items, fridge & microwave), but the rooms are old and ugly, they need an entire face-lift. Carpets were dingy and gross, bathroom okay, but the bath/shower is tiny & no heat in the bathroom so it was freezing. Also there were sliding glass doors to a small balcony area in our room that you could feel the cold air pouring through so we had to keep our curtains closed the entire time.
The whole hotel is just hodgepodge with random decorations & furniture. This place could be really cool, but there seems to be a lack of effort to stick with a theme & also keep it clean. I sat in the lobby by the fireplace at night, looked over at the lamp next to me & it had a full blown spider web with a big spider right in the middle! That tells me right there they aren't paying attention to details. They have some nice leather furniture placed here & there, but then they have nasty stained old furniture mixed in!? All the carpet throughout is dingy & dirty, especially going into the pools.
The pools are fine, not great. I do like the outside option. Our kids under 5 were not allowed in the hot pools (MT state law?) which I have never experienced anywhere else in Montana hot springs, but I'll have to look into that. The pools & changing rooms could definitely use some tlc as well.
The food was not good at all!!! If I ever went again, I would come prepared with our own food or go into Anaconda or Butte. Also we went to get coffees in the morning & returned them because of how absolutely horrible they were! We paid $12 for lattes that tasted like nothing I have ever tasted before in my life, even gas station coffee gets a 5star rating compared to theirs!
Overall, I was extremely disappointed at the quality of the resort & believe there is great potential under the right ownership/management.
