“It was a sentimental, happy, friendly atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2010

We really recommend the Ghost Rails Inn for slowing down life's fast pace.
The hosts were so friendly, they sat down at the table with us when they had time and conversed with us. This further extended the warm welcome we received when we checked in. It was a sign of good leadership hearing the owners/operators complement their employees. We are sure this felt good to the employees and reinforced their positive attitudes. We stayed in the conductor room which was quaint, cozy and well furnished and decorated. We had some great nights sleep. The bakery and sandwich shop nearby were also very friendly.

“You'll love this place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2010

The B&B is a historic railroad hotel built in the early 20th century. Grace and Thom have turned it into a wonderful stopover point on the way to anywhere. The rooms are comfortable and we slept like babies. Grace and Thom's hospitality was nonstop every second during our stay. We will happily stay here again whenever we're in western Montana. Do yourself a favor and make reservations.

“You gotta stay here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2010

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ghost Rails Inn. The sign outside said that we would be pleasantly surprized, and it was right. We had a hassle-free check in with Grace, the owner, dropped our bags and headed out to Missoula to catch a minor league baseball game.
The rooms were deliciously cozy, but large enough (barely) for the large beds. The family special has two rooms for the price of one, with the catch that they share a bathroom accessed through the hallway. The rooms at the other end of the hallway have private baths. When we arrived, the plumber was there putting a new toilet in. The whole building interior is in top shape.
Breakfast was perfect with in-season fruit and thick french toast. The sitting room is inviting and the Victrola works.
If you have the time, Grace will tell you about the previous owner who can still be seen walking around the property. She died some 30 years ago.

“Trip back in time at a whistle stop!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2010

Quiet is what they've got in Alberton, MT. Quaint and rustic about sums it up. However, the interior ambiance of the Inn and the outstanding hospitality of the innkeepers are exceptional. One steps back in time with all the amenities of the present. Simply delightful and charming. Rooms are nicely appointed and comfy. Breakfast is gourmet. Worth the stop!

“Unique B & B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2010

Breakfasts excellent and hosts attentive and full of lively stories. Both Grace and Thom take time in their busy schedule to spend considerable time with their guests. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the town even on Railroad Day and the local restaurant was brill. Grace made our stay by organising a trip to a local antique vehicle collector which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks both xx
