I stayed at the Hotel Peter about 15 years ago, and returned again with my husband this September.It is as lovely as I remembered it, with the large comfortable room and balcony with a beautiful view of the lake and the town, excellent breakfasts and a great location. The prices are extremely reasonable. As mentioned by others, they need to work on their customer relations, specifically as regards the unfriendly and discourteous manner of the front desk manager who "greeted"us on arrival. Despite this, I would definitely recommend the Hotel Peter and St. Wolfgang to anyone travelling in the Salzkamergut area.

We stayed here in September 2011. We had a lovely, clean room with a sitting area and a small terrace with a great view over the lake. The hotel has a restaurant looking out over the lake and the food was good. As mentioned by others they could do with better customer relations particularly at reception. It was good value. St. Wolfgang is a very quaint town.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Peter in August 2011. We had travelled with Thompson.
The room has to be the best we have stayed in. Very comfortable, lounge area and a balcony overlooking the lake. Sensational views. Breakfast was typical of good hotels in Europe, with tables overlooking the lake. We had half-board which meant we tried the best of Austrian food. Not everything was to our taste but it was the real deal. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to experience the real Austria.

Yes....have to agree with all the positive reviews. We had room 301 so the balcony and view were sensational. One tip....if you arrive by bus, which we did from Salzburg, then get off at the stop before the Tunel. That way you will not have to walk your suitcases up the steep hill from the next stop. And if you like to walk....then head uphill from the tourist office for the most glorious lake views you will ever encounter.
