we spent a week here end of Jan 2012. It was a warm, comfortable, clean and high quality for it's price.
Only problem (which is quite a big one): if you are on level 3 or above, you cant get hot water when you are back from skiing. So we had to wait every night, sweaty, partially stinky. hot water only comes to your floor after dinner around 8. It makes you realise what a great luxury hot water is.

so my advice, great value for money, if you can book a room in the lower floors.

Stayed at the Dr Leifer through crystal ski end of Jan and had a fab time. Went as a couple,first time to austria who are beginner skiers and keen walkers. The Dr Leifer was excellent value for money for us and was everything we expected and more from a three star. The room was big, always warm and had really high ceilings with a large balcony looking over the beautiful lake and mountains. The evening meal was always good of the homemade variety and the breakfast and lunches they had organised were perfect for days out sightseeing or skiing. The St Wolfgang area is a real winter wonderland at this time of the year as the snow was very thick on the many and varied trails in the area(snow shoe hire only £6 per day)The ski resort bus leaves from in front of the leifer and is a perfect beginners ski area. Can definately recommend the leifer hotel as your base to explore this fabulous area.

Who could wish for a better experience than we have just had in this wonderful modest hotel on the shores of the Wolfgang See..
Warm, comfortable,clean, friendly, excellent food, cheap bar prices, good location - what more can you ask for?

Can't think how anyone could write negative comments about this little "Gem".
