The hotel is very nice, everything is new, the food is very good and cheap and Wolfgang, the owner of the hotel is very nice and helpful (he even took us for free with his bus to the Christmas Fair in Strobl). The location is close to Postalm sky area, to Eurotherm baths and not so far from Slazburg.

Some have said that this Hotel is a little remote from St Wolfgang and Strobl, this is true but not a problem. The bus stop is outside and the walk by the lake to Strobl is a superb 30 minute walk. St W is a little too much of a tourist trap anyway. For the walker the trip to Schwarzensee lake is worthwhile as is the walk over the Falkenstein. Thanks to the excellent staff and the wide variety of things to do we hope to be back in 2011.

Not the best location for St. Wolfgang, its a few kilometers to the centre. However the manager Wolfgang was simply wonderful. he couldn't do enough to help. He organised concert tickets, help for our car,suggested trips. Beautiful rooms and above average food.Each room has a verandah

The Gasthof Burglstein is a wonderful place to stay if you are visiting the lake district of Salzburg.
It is located near the towns of St. Wolfgang and Strobl near Wolfgangsee. Despite being located on the outskirts of St. Wolfgang, other points in the area are easily accessible by the Post Bus which runs right past the hotel.
The Gasthof offers a variety of room types ranging from rooms which can accommodate two people to family apartments which can accommodate up to four people. The rooms contain kitchenettes which contain a double cook top, small fridge , sink and coffee machine. If you opt to not cook while on vacation, you can add the options of breakfast or half board in the inn’s restaurant.
The rooms are tastefully and decorated in lighter woods. The family room we stayed in had a double bed , separate room with bunk beds and sleeper sofa. The dining area had a table with chairs as well as a small table on the balcony. The rooms also have a shower area with separate water closet containing the toilet. Rooms have internet connections for a fee as well as color satellite television.
The restaurant on site offers the possibility of half board or ala carte ordering from the menu. Menu choices range from fish, poultry, pasta or pork dishes prepared in a variety of regional dishes.
From the moment we checked in until our departure, we were pleased with the service, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff at the Burglstein
