“The most fantastic week!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2011

We have just come back from a week at the Tennishotel and had one of our best holidays ever. We stayed in a family room "Rosengarten" which was very spacious and clean. We arrived very early but were nevertheless shown to our room straight away. In the evening we were invited to a welcome drink before the first of our 7 fantastic 5 course dinners. We especially liked the kitchen party, when "Hubsi" invited us into the kitchen where we could watch while our food was being prepared.
Our whole family (2 children aged 9 and 7) took part in the "Happy Tennis" consisting of 90 mins group lesson a day. The coaching team was fantastic (even though the regular South African team were on their break back home) and catered for every level. They also made the lessons very enjoyable for the children.
Whilst we spent most of our time relaxing around the hotel, skiing would also have been available in nearby ski areas.
We were very sad having to leave today and will be back in the summer.

“Fantastic was treated like one of the family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2010

well what can we say have just got back from this hotel have to say i was very sceptical at first as i was a total beginner tennis player , my husband and especially little girl are very keen players my 10 yr old boy can take it or leave it and the little on 4yrs old has never played. ( was advised the children could play with all the toys in the little park area he loved it even a wind up kid size cement mixer and digger.)
on arrival at the hotel we where welcomed by Connie the hotel owner she showed us to our room and then invited us down to meet the tennis coaches and for our evening meal. Our room was fantastic 2 very large double rooms with walk in showers and all mod cons the view was something out of The Sound of Music,
The first meal and then every meal in the hotel was splendid We where treated to 5 course meals all prepared with the greatess attention with fresh vegetables that you can see growing in a little garden you can walk around my little boy who is a keen loved this couldnt get any fresher if you tried , one of my children is a very picky eater and nothing was ever too much trouble to prepare her a special meal,
The tennis was fantastic i was even returning the ball by the end of the week, we all did the happy tennis which is for 1.5 hrs per day my little girl also had a few private lessons the coaches where very welcoming and had a great laugh with the children, The only thing i thing should be changed is that the could do with some orange tennis balls for the younger under 9 players to use similar to what we use over here as the regular balls can damaged there shoulders we was lucky that another family had brought some with them .
the are aroud the hotel is fantastic with lots to do our children loved the summer toboganning and the trip to the saltmines.
we will definately be returning to this hotel and would like to thank connie and all our staff for making us feel so welcome My little girl also wants to say a big thankyou to the tennis team

“ACE SERVICE, GAME SET MATCH!”

Although I'm glad my wife has taken up tennis and enjoy activity holidays I really didn't want to spend precious holiday time practicing with her, however, Tennishotel St Wolfgangsee came to our rescue providing great coaching and a holiday experience we shall cherish forever. The location and view from our 'komfort' room in this Austrian wooden chalet style overlooking lake Wolfgangsee was simply 'chocolate box' straight out of 'The Sound of Music' with views of the Alps which we just couldn't stop photographing as the light changed. This is a family business and we truly felt invited guests, the chef (son)deserves a michelin star with his 5 course dinners, the daughter's admin & language skills were faultless and their parents welcomed everyone into their oh so comfortable home. A few minutes walk took us into one of Austria's most ancient and picturesque towns with, of course, cafes serving mouth-watering apple strudel to die for.. and if all this seems too energetic, there are spas and beauty treatments on hand to revive you before dinner on the terrace served by waitress' in traditional dress accompanied by live Austrian accordian music. Now that's what I call a great holiday and one we are happy to recommend.

“Great for Tennis, Families and all round relaxation.”

My wife and two young daughters went to stay at the Tennis Hotel in 2007. We liked the place so much that we are heading back this summer even though I almost never go back to the same place twice!

The rooms are excellent, clean and spacious with beautfiful views of the lake or the mountains. The food is very good and the swimming pool and grounds mean the kids can safely run around and have a lot of fun.

For those who like tennis it is ideal. You have the choice of indoor carpet or outdoor clay courts which you are free to use as much as you like during your stay. The coaches are good and the group sessions are a great way to improve your game....and sweat!

The Hotel is close enough to St Wolgang and the lake and if you have a car it is easy to get around to the nearby towns and expore the area.

The thing that really makes Tennis Hotel so enjoyable is the informal, friendly atmosphere. We went in a family week and had a great time getting to know all the people staying. The family who run the place go out of their way to make you feel at home.

Would recommend to anyone.

“A wonderful holiday experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2008

My wife and I had a simply amazing holiday experience. The location of the hotel is superb: you could film The Sound of Music outside the front door without changing a thing.
The rooms are large and very comfortable. Ours had a beautiful view down the valley to the lake (it was a standard room) and the food in the hotel is extremely good. We were attracted by the tennis facilities which are excellent. The indoor courts are very good as are the outdoor clay courts. The standard of coaching is high.
But what is, in our experience, unique about this hotel is the warmth of the hospitality from the family who own and run it. It's just like joining a very nice private house party. The trip organised (without charge) by Connie to the family's hunting lodge high in the mountains with great food, beer and schnapps laid on when we got there will remain in my memory for a very long time.
We will certainly return - quite soon I think

  • Liked — The warmth of the hopitality
  • Disliked — Can't think of anything - oh yes - it rained every day but one
