We have been staying at the Americinn in Austin, MN for the last 5 or 6 years when we come home for Christmas. When we checked in - we noticed how nice it looked compared to the last time we were there. It turns out the inn has new owners and it shows!

New paint, carpet and decor - our room had new furniture and I understand they will be remodeling most if not all of the rooms. VERY clean - service was impeccable!

We will continue to stay here when we come home for the holidays - give it a chance, you won't be disappointed!

Nice decor in lobby. The cookies and popcorn were a nice touch too. Pool and spa were warm. New beds and carpet too.

All of the hotels in Austin appear to be expensive compared to other parts of Minnesota. Of the few hotels in Austin, I would put Americinn towards the bottom of the list. It is dated, dusty and dark. It might be okay for a single night as you pass through town but that is about it. The whole place was tired and could do with a complete update. I can't comment on the quality of the free breakfast as we met up with relatives at the Perkins just around the corner. This hotel was a disappointment after staying in some really nice and much cheaper places elsewhere in Minnesota and South Dakota.

I checked into this hotel and noticed there was a HEAVY perfume smell in the room. I woke up choking from the smell. I went up to the desk and complained about the perfume and he said, "We use perfume to cover up other odors." ARE YOU KIDDING? How about keeping the hotel clean??? It was filthy. Matted down carpet and a smell that would make a horse sick. I left and drove 200 miles at midnight to a very very clean Hampton Inn. Americinn needs to find out what Hampton Inn uses to clean their rooms. Oh, Americinn needs to clean their rooms not just saturate it with perfume. Don't stay here.
