I was in town for business for 8 days, and needed a hotel that would permit dogs. The Holiday Inn was very gracious - as my dogs are show dogs, they are used to being crated in hotels.
Room service was excellent - I have stayed in far more expensive hotels that were nowhere near as clean.
The hotel has been recently renovated - the rooms were attractive, bedding was great (washable comforters and coverlets, with extra SOFT pillows, a boon for stomach sleepers). The bathrooms had ceramic tile - shower height was thankfully high - there's nothing worse than shower heads mounted 5 1/2 feet off the floor blasting one in the face.
The Holidome had also been renovated - absolutely no excess humidity and the pool area was spotless. The usual weekend kid parties were there, but I heard no excess noise after the pool closed. Although I did not have a poolside room, the noise wouldn't have been a problem.
The restaurant had good casual food, and the neighboring Perkins restaurant, which I believe is locally owned by the same owners, was a cut above the usual Perkins, with excellent and friendly waitstaff and managers.
I did have some problems with internet access one morning, and received superb help from the service provider that the front desk staff provided. I actually 'stumped the expert' and he had a supervisor call me promptly - the problem was taken care of in a satisfactory and timely manner - and by articulate helpful people!
