My two daughters and I started out one special evening as a birthday bed and breakfast getaway. We happened upon Ticknor Hill Bed & Breakfast. It was the most elegant evening of relaxation and beauty I had ever experienced. The Innkeepers were remarkable. A lovely couple who were hospitable and friendly, who enjoyed our visits and we enjoyed theirs. The Inn is beautiful! Each room is elegant in its own style. The history of the Ticknors who built the home in the 1800's is remarkable. The complete story is available as you enter the parlor. My favorite spot is the large porch with wicker rockers and flowers and plants. Upon waking in the morning to the aroma of coffee and breakfast cooking from downstairs is the highlight of our stay. While awaking to a tray of pastries and coffee set gently at our door with a quiet knock to accompany us while we get ourselves ready for the day. Breakfast is served around 9:00 a.m. down in the elegant Victorian dining room with crystal chandeliers and candles burning. We sit at the dining table of imported lace table cloths and napkins on china and crystal that is polished individually. The scrumptious breakfast is served exclusively while we chat with other guests and the Innkeepers about the many attractions that the quaint town of Anoka has to tour. We have stayed at Ticknor Hill Bed and Breakfast many, many times and look forward to our next visit at Christmas. It is a romantic getaway for couples or a relaxing evening by yourself. I cannot express more without first staying there and seeing for yourself what a beautiful bed and breakfast Ticknor Hill B&B is. Sincerely,Mary Leonhardt ThayerTami GordonKelly Durenberger
