“Highly Recommend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

My girlfriend, her kid, and I were there last weekend and had a great time. The rooms were clean and roomy. The service was great, and the restaurant/bar were awesome! They had family/kid friendly activities as well. On a side note, I left my pillow there and they shipped it to me at no cost and I received it within 48 hours of calling them!!! We will be back.

“Nice Family Getaway”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

Took a family getaway to Arrowwood resort for two nights just after Christmas. I have heard about this place for years but had never been. I wasn't really too impressed. It's very large, has some age on it and needs a serious deep cleaning. It's not filthy or anything, but they need to do more renovation for sure. I have to say that the rooms were large and clean enough and the view was nice from the balcony. We were looking forward to some outdoor winter fun but there was no snow on the ground. They look to have lots of nice snowmobiles for rent, but not this time i'm afraid. The crew seemed very hands off and not too social, nobody was rude, but there wasn't much smiling going on from anyone on the staff . We did have a nice meal at the restaurant, so I would have to give that the thumbs up, the burgers were good and the Cobb salad was fresh and well done. The water park is good for a hotel, but not great overall. Three larger water slides and a kiddy area, the kids were tired of it after the 2nd visit. They also have a large indoor Tennis/basketball area that we had a good time in. I think if there were snow and more outdoor activities we would have had a much better time overall.
They did have some activities planned like kid crafts and a treasure hunt, but the staff was so lifeless everything seemed very flat and boring. We went to the smores roast one night and there was nobody there, just a lit fire and a box with smores stuff in it. we feasted on smores, but no staff in site.

If I were to go back I would make sure it was summer as it looks like there is plenty of fun to be had if you could take advantage of the outdoors.

Room Tip: The lake view was nice.

Thank you for taking the time to review Arrowwood Resort on TripAdvisor! We appreciate our guest comments! I was very hapy to read you enjoyed your meals in the Lake Cafe and the time you spent in our indoor waterpark. Also, thanks for noticing the newly renovated room and your comments about the cleanliness. I apologize that we didn't have the snowmobiles and sledding available, it's always more fun at Arrowwood in the winter when we have snow. Please do take advantage and return in the summertime, you won't be disappointed!

Thank you again for the review!

“Great place for large groups and families.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

This resort has everything a family or large group needs to keep them busy. The rooms are ok. It is a very busy place and the updated rooms get used hard. The loft rooms are great for families but not with little kids. The steps up to the loft are very steep. My 10 year son just about fell all the down. As I said, there is plenty there to keep everyone busy. We enjoyed the ice fishing. The made it very easy for us non-experienced ice fishers. The kids love the big gym. Great place to run around, throw a football around, and play with balls. Though it also can get very busy. Had great food from room service and the bar up on top. It is reasonable. Remember is a vacation place.

Room Tip: First floor rooms can be hard to warm up if it is a very cold windy day in the winter. Fourth floor...

“Resort for activities for everyone!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

If you're bored while staying at this place, it's your own fault! The rooms are beautiful. We had a room with a balcony overlooking Lake Darling. Very comfortable beds. We booked two rooms with the intent of enjoying some cross-country skiing and tubing with our daughter and family. However, with no snow, there were still many other activities to participate in. The enclosed arena for basketball, volleyball, badmitten was a bit of disappointment. We reserved the basketball hoop, but there was no staff to enforce it. There was a volleyball court right next to it, so it was VERY crowded. It would have been nice to have had hotel supervision of the area to enforce the reservations. The water park was very nice - lots of staff supervision. Had the pizza party meal from the dining room - very good. A nice place for family reunions - activities for all ages.

Room Tip: A room overlooking Lake Darling is very nice.

“dirty rooms and nothing updated”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

the property was flooded! they said you could roast marshmellows but the fire pit was flooded and they were not willing to clear the water so we as guest had to figure out how to roast the marshmellows! we had food on our floor when we got there and we had someone else's purchased gifts in the drawers and when called the front desk and complained didnt offer us a new room, gave us a free small pizza!! the waterpark was so strict and the young employees were rude! The food in the restraunt was very poor! we went down to the kids club area and the staff rolled their eyes at one of our kids! I would never return to this place for the price they charge with the poor staff!

Thank you for sharing your comments with us about your stay last August. I sincerely apologize for the water levels you experienced during your stay. We had record rain falls in July and August causing the water levels to be the highest we have ever seen on the chain of lakes! I feel terrible you didn't know that we moved the bonfire area to the Kids Camp area. Because the water levels were so high, it was impossible for us to dry out the fire pit by the Deck Bar and Grill. You should have been advised we had moved it. I also apologize if you felt our lifeguards were too strict. Our greatest concern is the safety of our guests, they are there to enforce the rules and keep all our guests safe. We appreciate the comments you shared and would like to make it up to you. Please contact me directly so we can discuss a way to make it right! Thank you again!
