Nasty room, smelled bad, carpet filthy and the next morning they pretended they didn't know that our room was that bad. Stay Away

Just a short drive off the highway. Food and shopping close by. Arrived late and was greeted by staff at front desk. Easy check-in. Room was clean with comfy pillows and ample bedding. Needed to turn on the AC when we entered the room but within 15 minutes the room was cool and comfortable. We ran the fan all night too. Relaxing white noise. Even though the hotel was more than 1/2 full we didn't hear the people around us, any doors slamming, water running or anything. The best park of the stay was the breakfast. We went to the restaurant where we were given three free entrees to pick from or $2 off each entree on the menu. The food was AWESOME and we were shocked at the large portions. You have to try the hashbrown omelette. After the $2 discount it was $4.95 which included a beverage. When it came out the omelette covered the plate and was at least 2 inches thick. Yum! We would stay here again.

What did I like??? Nothing! When walking into the hotel the hallways and main entrance are beautiful. Walking in to the non smoking room I get hit with the awful smell of smoke and mildew. The ceiling tiles above the closet have stains from a leak. Walk into the bathroom to find dead bug on the floor and bathtub not clean. Not to mention having to stand in water ankle deep when showering and find dead bug on the wall of the surrounding tiles in the shower.

Then I go into the room to find out two queen size beds are only full size beds. The floor was so old and not to mention burns that look like a dog rubbed off feces in. Then I go to put some beverages in the fridge (since it is a 100 degree day) to find that either we go without the a/c or the fridge since they don't have the proper outlets!

Then I try to use the FREE WiFi to find it is not working, but I can get it from the hotel across the streets WiFi.

While laying in this bed that has bedding and pillows from the 80's I am trying to read my book to help me sleep and have a flee fly at me.

These ARE NOT RENOVATED rooms!!! The hotel was not full by any means and if they had a smart owner they would open up only so many rooms and make those renovated and not rent out the non renovated rooms.

I felt like I was in a horror movie! Oh and the doors for the rooms have about an 1/2 inch of space at the bottom to help you feel secure NOT! My husband will not here the end of it and they are lucky he is the one that complained! When he complained the lady played stupid and didn't even offer to fix anything or credit our account. She offered us their breakfast. I wouldn't eat anything they provided after seeing the awful accommodation's they offer!

If you are an Albert Lea resident don't refer any friends or relatives here as you will never get over the embarrassment.

What can I say? The cooked-to-order meals in the on-site restuarant that are included in the cost was a wonderful way to start the day. The rooms have been completely renovated, including high-effeciency air conditioners with directional flow, flooring, new curtains, bedding/pillows, tiled bath/showers including new towels.
The completely tiled main floor is exceptionally impressive. The pool with hottub is outstanding. The front desk staff and waitresses are cheerful and very helpful.
We will definately stay again.
