My husband and I were unfortunate enough to be driving through the area during some kind of large event, causing all hotels within a 60 mile radius to be booked. There was also a terrible thunderstorm, to the point that we could no longer see to drive. It was very late and this was the only place we could find to stay. Had I looked at the room before we checked in, we would have kept driving. Our only saving grace was that we happened to have sheets and pillows in our car. I would have never slept under what was on those beds. It was beyond discusting. Please do yourself a favor and do not stay here. Even Super 8 should be ashamed to have their name on this building. It needs to be condemned. Terrible is an understatement. Call me over dramatic, but I don't want anyone else to make the mistake of staying at this place. Your car is a much better option.

Please, Please, Please stay in your car before you stay in this hotel. This is by far the worst hotel I have ever encountered and have no idea why the MN Health Dept has not shut them down. This place gives all Super 8 independently owned locations a bad name.
1. Blood stained mattress. Large stain and many small stains. I am assuming from someone being chewed alive by bed bugs at night.
2. Furniture in very poor shape.
3. Walls scuffed up.
4. Very smelly
5. Dirty - don't look behind the night stand. Yikes!
6. Curtains falling off the rods.
7. Bugs.....Bugs.....Bugs.....
8. Hair in bathroom.

Need I say more? If you care about your families health, please do not stay here. We were unfortunated to have car trouble and did not intend on staying at a hotel. I normally read reviews before booking into a hotel. The hotel across the street is older, but clean.

We stay at Super 8's and have found them to be generally ok. We initially had a lower level room and moved to the second floor and the smell and view was better, but it was still not a nice place to stay. This hotel is not acceptable and I would drive on by this one. It smells funny, wasn't clean and was old and run-down. It definitely is not one of the extra special Super 8's! We were in a hurry to leave and left without even attempting to eat the breakfast.

The hotel charged $99/night. It was absolutely NOT worth it.
Problems:
1. Dead bugs in the hallway the entire time I was there.
2. The bathroom was not cleaned from the previous hotel guest, there was hair and leftover soap in the tub.
3. Mold and dirt around the tub and toilet.
4. They advertised wireless internet, but I was only able to get connected if I stood in the hall or in the lobby.
5. I had two rooms, one for my parents, one for myself. They charged me for 4 nights and we only stayed 3 nights and they refused to give a refund. So, they ripped my off for over $200.
6. The housekeeper lived there with her child.
7. The housekeeper was the same person who laid out the breakfast and she DID NOT use any type of gloves when touching the food.
8. The rugs in the lobby, hallways, and rooms looked like they had not been vacuumed in a LONG time.
9. They advertise coffee pot and hair dryer in every room. That is false.
10. I sat in the lobby most every night because I could not get internet service anywhere else, and they would tell each unsuspecting traveler looking for a room a different price for a room, anywhere from $79 to $129, I guess depending on whatever whim they might have.
If I had any other choice of hotel while I was in Albert Lea I would have definitely have gone somewhere else, unfortunately I flew in for the Red Power Roundup and the hotels were booked solid during that time.
