“Good for two, not for a family”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I liked this hotel. The staff were very friendly and they are clearly trying for the "affordable upmarket' look. The breakfast was great. Only problem is the said a 2 double bed room with a sofa bed is big enough for 6. It's not. The double beds are more like a full sized bed. The bathroom is also a bit weird. If you were sharing with someone it would be a nightmare if you wanted to change in privacy and the bathroom only has a loo and a very small bath with over bath shower. The sink and vanity is in the bedroom. Also the bathroom has no extractor. This is a great hotel for 2 girls/guy going away for a trip, or maybe the king bed room with one child. But not big enough for a family. The only way I could think of to describe it was as a very nice IKEA showroom.

“Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We've stayed here several times - mostly for concerts at the Palace or when visiting family in Clarkston. Not a far drive from the Great Crossing Mall or Palace or Pine Knob for that matter.
Great service, clean rooms, nice & big rooms with a couch & wet bar.

“Nice place, even better personal service by Sharon.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Exceptional level of service by front desk at check in and during entire stay. Exceptional service by Sharon who should be commended on personal touch and superb level of personal service which in very unusual at a local hotel chain. Pleasure to deal with and made a huge difference in the short, overnight stay.

Room Tip: Stay on the upper floors.

“Over The Top Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

This was my first stay at a Hyatt Place hotel, but my 2nd hotel stay in as many days. The night before I was at a Fairfield Inn in Saginaw, Michigan, booked by someone else.Their price was $110 per night for an "okay" room.

This stay I booked for $80 and was not expecting anything better than the previous night. Instead I was blown away by the amenities and staff. I overheard that they were booked solid due to a couple of weddings and some of those guests wanted to make last minute room changes which they were unable to accommodate. But my experience was fantastic. My King suite was at the end of a hall, nice and quiet.

The weather was typical winter, so they had an employee constantly moping up the salt covered lobby.

When I returned from dinner, they were spreading more salt on the sidewalks to keep their guests safe.

The biggest surprise and what prompted me to write this review was when I looked out the next morning and saw that they had cleaned off 3 inches of snow off of the windows of every one of their guests vehicles in the parking lot! An extra special service when it's only 13 degrees outside.

“Girls Shopping Weekend Stay - great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Stayed at this hotel in November for Black Friday shopping trip with 3 other ladies. The hotel is very clean and well managed. Great service for breakfast in the morning (which was included in the price). Beds were comfortable, and the room was well kept. Relatively modern. Toiletries were a little scarce, especially with 4 ladies staying in the room. We ate a quick dinner at the hotel on the first night and it was good and cheap. Service at the front desk was very good and the staff were extremely helpful. I would recommend this hotel and stay there again.

Great room size - suite-like with seperate living area, desk and wetbar.

The only downfall was the fact that the pool did not have a hot tub or sauna along with it. It was cold and even though it was an indoor pool, who wants to go swimming in a cold pool without the option of getting warmed up in a hut tub!
