“Great location and excellent for an extended stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

This is a typical Residence Inn with the expected ammenities. A nice treat was not just the full hot breakfast, but also a M-Th evening reception with hot food. Only two things kept it from being my highest rating. First the WiFI was very slow, and sometimes even difficult to hook up with. Second, I had a first floor unit, and when my neighbor upstairs walked around I heard almost every step. It could be this facility is somewhat aged, as this problem is rather rare. Great service, the front desk ladies were excetpionally nice and helpful. I travel to this area several times a year and will always choose the Residence Inn.

“Over priced”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

We stayed at this hotel one night on August 21, 2011.
We made a reservation for a room that sleeps 6.
When we arrived at the hotel we were notified that they do not have such a room available nor do any of the nearby hotels. Instead, they put us in two rooms. Not only were the two rooms without connecting doors but they were on different floors. Thus, we (the parents) had to split up, each of use slept in a different room.
WIFI: reception was poor and the speed was very very slow.
Breakfast: - We weren't able to have any since there was an electrical power outage that morning.
Pool: outdoor small, not for doing laps - it was too cold to swim in.
All in all a very disappointing stay.

Room Tip: They have an older wing and a newer wing - try and book a newer wing. We slept on the ground floor a...

“A Great Place to Stay and Relax”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

We did some research and booked a stay at this location specifically because we wanted to grill some Nebraska beef for our son and his friends who attend college in the area. I called and was told that their patio with two Weber grills and a bi-level suite would be a great location for what we had planned -- and boy was it! The grills were in excellent condition and we asked for a room next to the patio, when they kindly granted. The staff was very friendly and helpful to make sure the stay was all we hoped it would be. We had a bi-level suite which gave us some room to spread out. The rooms were a little dated, but very clean and efficient to use. The full kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, glasses, etc. I would book this hotel again in a heartbeat to grill out or just enjoy a relaxing stay.

Room Tip: We loved our second floor bi-level suite.

“Service beyond expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

I will just be echoing others when I say that this was a great choice for us. The beds were comfortable and the suite was pretty much like an apartment. It had everything we needed. We required 2 bedrooms, and the only suites that would fill the bill for us were upstairs. Since we are seniors, it was a challenge for us to lug everything needed for a 2 week stay up those stairs. Other than that, the suite was perfect. The service is what makes this hotel stand out from the rest. The management makes you feel special and important. They remember your name and greet you professionally and personally. When something was needed they were there in a flash to fix the problem. Residence Inn is fortunate to have employees and management that bend over backwards for their customers. They were friendly, fantastic, and fun! Other hotels should take note of this!

Room Tip: Second story rooms don't have as much natural light, but they were amazingly quiet. They must b...

“We're making this our "go-to" hotel when visiting family. Go Blue!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

We have family in Tecumseh, MI which brings us to visit often. There are limited to no decent hotel choices in Tecumseh so we decided to take the 25 minute drive and stay in Ann Arbor. Great choice. Not only was the Residence Inn a nice property - but there's so much to do in Ann Arbor.

The hotel is directly across from Briarwood Mall which is a very nice shopping center with all of the name brand stores. This Residence Inn appears to have been added onto - since it has the typical rooms that are almost like apartments and you enter from the outside. However, there's another building that is more "hotel like." We stayed in the older style rooms. The room was very clean and spacious. The bedding was nice and the layout was very comfortable. We only stayed one night but I could envision staying more comfortably. The staff was very nice at check-in and informed us of the free breakfast and all of the on-site amenities.

The only warning I'd give . . . if you have a hard time "lugging" your luggage - be sure to ask for a ground floor room if they put you in the the older section of the hotel. If not, you'll be going up a flight of stairs.

Overall, I recommend this Marriott property. It would be great for any ocassion whereby you want a little extra room to spread out.
