“We'll Be Back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This is a very nice property. Right on campus walkable to all the campus bars, restaurants and stores. Staff was EXCELLENT. We had to evacuate the building for a short while (a fire alarm wire got nicked) and staff brought hotel shuttle vans for us while we waited for the all clear (it was February and a bit chilly). The bar on the first floor is great with equally great staff.

“An average hotel in a college town”

Its all about location. This hotel has a perfect one, right off State Street. Ann Arbor does not have many hotels within walking distance of the campus. This hotel is nice enough but the rooms, lobby, etc. are out of date and the rates are outrageous.

“Self serve at full serve prices”

The Campus Inn really has the best location for getting around town but the price is not worth the bad service and dusty décor. We celebrated New Years Eve at a restaurant in Ann Arbor and select the Campus Inn so we would not need to drive. Considering the price and the location—we expected more. This hotel has ZERO service. We had to unload our own luggage and load-up the bell cart, thinking that the bellman must be on break. When we entered the hotel, we were surprised to see the bellman watching us through the doorway. He did nothing. Did not even ask us if we needed a hand – I was so irritated I just ignored him. Additionally, the hotel is in dire need of updates. The fake plants are gross and loaded with dust. They even issue old fashion keys indeed of key cards – which could be charming but it wasn’t. Ann Arbor deserves better.

I would like to apologize for the poor reception and lack of service you experienced. Our standard calls for all guests to be greeted and offered assistance with luggage. On this occasion the bellman failed to meet that standard and we will follow up with him accordingly. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

“Excellent hotel at an excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

My stay at the Campus Inn in Ann Arbor was excellent. The hotel has a boutique hotel feel, and is excellent both in terms of amenities and comfort. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. They also have an excellent breakfast. The only slightly unpleasant incident happened when I was checking out, and the frontdesk staff called a taxi which never arrived. Of course, it wasn't their fault, but they could have been more vigilant about the fact that the taxi hadn't arrived.

My apologies that the front desk and bell staff did not monitor the non-arrival of the taxi. We accept that it is our responsibility to select the best partners to provide the best service to our guests. We will follow up with the taxi company to emphasize the need for good communication with our desk and bell staff. I am happy that you enjoyed the breakfast and other amenities of the hotel.

“Excellent service and accommodations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2011

Very friendly and helpful staff- really enhanced our stay. Everything was clean and fresh. Beds were comfortable. The exercise room had a nice selection of cardio equipment and some resistance equipment. Clean towels, refrigerated water and clean headsets for watching TV while you exercise. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast and had a good meal. The bathroom in our room was a little small.
