Room was clean but experience could have been better. Were in a handicapped room due to no elevators. Front desk were friendly and helpful. However, due to a hospital paying for one day of our stay in the middle of our reservation, the hotel lost the remainder of our reservation and was locked out of our room @ 11:30 at night after husband had surgery at the nearby hospital. The front desk clerk who checked us in originally and had to deal with the hospital direct billing and she SHOULD have made sure this did not happen. Her and I spoke about how long my reservation was both times including when doing the paperwork for the hospital to pay and that I was still staying until the original check out date.
Housekeeping also only vacuumed, made the bed and left towels. Never cleaned the sink or tub the whole time there (mouth wash residue in sink and empty shampoo container left on tub ledge).
The room was one that had been freshened up with new paint, etc., but the tub/shower was never repaired and had noticeable stained cracks in it that caught attention due to sticking out like sore thumb. It sort of made the freshening a little less freshening.
The shower curtain in our room was a bit short and we had to make sure it did not swish over the tub edge and allow water to run on floor. Window curtains also allowed for people walking by to see in to the mirror which in turn allowed them to see into the room. Husband noticed it when going past other ground floor rooms. We had to us the extra door latch to pull curtain over so that it did not allow for this gap. The door handle was also a bit difficult to use. The deadbolt would not stay open and when closing the door would not allow the door to close. We had to actually hold the door handle down on the inside so that the deadbolt would retract, grab the door handle on the outside to keep it retracted then go out the door and leave. Now remember, this was a HANDICAP accessible room. Just how the heck was someone in a wheelchair supposed to deal with this??
All in all, we would stay here again. However, the noted items above did add tension to the reason we were there and did not allow for me to truly relax.
