I stayed for one night on a quick trip to Ann Arbor, and the staff couldn't be better. The hotel is of the "Grand Old" variety, and I like it very much. The valets parking my car were polite, helpful, and efficient; the desk clerk was great and called my room to make sure everything was ok. The location is perfect for visiting my daughter, who's at the Law School. The buffet breakfast this morning was very nice, and the woman attending to it was helpful and friendly. My room was small, but clean and with a very small but refurbished bathroom.
The only downside? My next-door neighbors were not particularly noisy, but I could hear them as if they were in the same room. When my daughter met me at the hotel this morning and came up to my room, she, too, was surprised that we could easily hear the woman next door cough. I wonder if there is some way to add some soundproofing between those rooms where this is a problem. I'm not particularly fussy about sound, but this was quite pronounced. I will undoubtedly want to stay at the Bell Tower again, so perhaps there's something the management can do to solve this.
