We just stayed here for a couple of days while spending Thanksgiving with relatives. Chose the Holiday Inn because of the Holidome. Our grandson loved the pool and golf. The first room they put us in smelled like smoke. The front desk staff quickly brought us new keys and changed our room. Facility is somewhat dated but still acceptable. Staff was friendly. It does seem a little expensive for the area, though.

The hotel overall is good. Staff very friendly. If you stay in the fall book an inside room (not facing outside) unless you like spiders. I killed 4 large spiders in my room and then was bit by one in the bed. They moved me to another room and compd te\he room, but still.....I will stay there again because it is the best in Alpena and a great restaraunt.

I stayed here one night in September, 2011. I had an unusual and prickly travel problem that Kim and Brandon, the front desk clerks were able to help me resolve quickly and with style. They also accommodated me with printing my travel documents. Had dinner in the bar of the hotel -- good food, better service. This hotel is older, but very clean and the service was wonderful - a great pick!

The bed was comfortable, but for the price the should have provided a continental breakfast.
