I have extremely mixed feelings about this hotel. It's good, yet bad. I'll put it this way:

Pros:
*Pool clean
*Excellent TV channel lineup
*Safe neighborhood
Cons:
*AC quit at 12 in the morning first night, had to move
*2nd night, pool was packed with rule breaking, ear shattering teenage girls with ZERO supervision!!!
*No microwave
Overall, I give this hotel a B, 3.5/5,and a 7.5/10.

We stayed at the holiday inn for one night on our way from Minneapolis to London. We truly liked it! The staff was very helpful: The first room we got smelled of cigarette smoke, so we went back to reception. They instantly gave us another room and they even upgraded us - for free!! So we got a spacious room with flatscreen-tv, jaccuzzi, fridge, sink, microwave.....it was all there!
But best was definitely the staff: We had been tenting the night before and had gotten into a heavy thunderstorm. So we asked the guy at the reception (Ryan) if we could somewhere hang our tent to dry. He then showed us to a storage room where we could hang the tent and let it dry for a whole 12 hours - we were so glad!! This was very, very nice and exactly what we needed. Thank you so much, Ryan! Really appreciated it!

the room smelled of cigarette smoke residue even though it's a smoke free room that we stayed in and the bathroom had this ugly groossly dirty-looking piece of beehive metal/ wood hanging below the lighting source - you can see it when you stand by the sink . They need to get rid of it -yuk!!

First let me say that the staff is VERY NICE. Good people doing their best. The hotel appears to have been aiming for Victorian Opulence in the decor.

It's clean but not spotless. We found a juice box and some wrappers behind the couch in our room although the bathroom, carpet, and bedding looked spotless.

Pool is nice with an integrate spa and the free breakfast is good.

The hotel is HUGE. Our room (250) was about a mile from the front desk as the crow flies. We felt we should leave a trail of breadcrumbs to navigate the labyrinth back and forth from the pool. Again, this is not a "fault" just be aware if you are traveling with a family and may not want endless treks with wet kids throughout the maze of the far reaches of the hotel. Stay near the lobby. Mark your trail. ;)

The staff, while friendly, is minimal. At 11 p.m. when we went to make up the pull-out in our room we realized we needed more bedding. It took two calls to the front desk and then we were told they had no one else on the desk so if we wanted the blanket for the bed we'd have to hike down and get it, they wouldn't deliver. We made the hike only to discover upon opening the bag back in our room that we'd actually just run the five minute mile to be given a padded fitted mattress pad - not a comforter at all!

The room (Suite) was loud. I'm not sure what the metallic grinding sound was that kept coming on and off throughout the night in the 250 block but it was jarring and definitely not conducive to a good night's sleep.

Finally, poor room design seems to be the cause of excessive stuffiness. The only hvac unit was in the rear bedroom. This meant that room had to be nearly freezing just to moderately cool the front of the suite.
