Overall, this was a good place to stay (and a welcome relief after the horrible place in Potosi!). It was clean, had comfy beds and DUVETS (hurray!)! The shared bathrooms were kept clean and had hot water (had to wait a little while for it to come through one morning but it did eventually.!). The staff were friendly. It was fairly expensive at US$17 per night for a double room (i.e for 2 people) but good value. It was close and very easy to find from the bus station.
There was a kitchen (we didn´t use it because Sucre is meant to be the food capital of Bolivia! - but others did so it must have functioned ok) and a garden patio area with chairs. There was also a random dining hall with anitique-looking furniture and a long banqueting table in it! Very old fashioned chic... cool, but a large space that could probably be put to a more practical use!
There are only 3 negatives:
Firstly, the location isn´t great - it´s a good 30 min walk to the main square. It´s downhill all the way so we usually got a taxi back in the dark for about 8 Bols. Secondly, the TV "room" is just a corridor outside some bedrooms - we never used it because it would be disturbing to other people. No big deal really though. Thirdly, there was no bar, so it was nigh on impossible to meet anyone unless you are staying in a dorm or cooking in the kitchen. Perhaps they should convert that bizarre dining room!
