When we arrived to check in to the two rooms we reserved 5 months ago through Carmen and confirmed through Carmen one week prior we were told that none were available and that we would be placed in a private residence around the corner. It was a private residence and looked like it. We immediately left and were forced to find rooms elsewhere at the high season rate not the low season rate we booked at Offenbacher-Hof. Do not trust this place or Carmen!

The place is a bit old fashion but all in all ok. We had no problems to find it due it is located very visible uphill. Great view from the room, quiet area of town, german speaking lady owns the place, everybody friendly and helpful.

The Residencia is a good value for the money. The ocean facing rooms have wonderful views and the rooms are clean and homey, if a bit old-fashioned. Breakfasts are good and enjoyed in a spacious room that appears to have been a restaurant at one time. The location is a little difficult to find, and it is a bit of a walk to restaurants by the sea, but we enjoyed the walk each evening.

We booked the room in part because we were told that the owners spoke English, but if they did, it wasn't much. Never-the-less the manager was very helpful in arranging a winery tour, giving us maps and a lot of advice.
