We started a 1 month trip in Chile here because we understood it to be extra nice (I needed to decompress from work before really starting), and having a front desk staff that speaks English well. We were fooled. Most (but not all) of the front desk staff can communicate in English on the most important things, but they couldn't do much to help us acclimate to Chile and one particular guy (big guy) couldn't communicate in English at all.
For example, we asked the first evening where we should go for dinner - we were directed to the main touristy road through town that has overpriced and mostly not-so-good restaurants. We later learned where the good/reasonably priced (for Vina) restaurants are - not all that far from the hotel, but in a different area than the hotel suggested - shame on them!
The "suite" is not what you think...fairly small.
The location is quite near the casino, but not so near the beaches (a 10-15 minute walk).
It would be fine if it was half the price...but considering the price of lodging throughout Chile (even in the tourist areas) this place is crazy expensive.
