“You must stay here!”

I have used this hotel off and on for a number of years. THe staff are great, especially on the front desk, always a smile! To be honest all the staff are very eager to help, as is the Manager of the hotel, you even get a wave from the security guards when you park.

The food is good in the restaurant, especially the Chicken Makhani, its a delight, try the Arabic food.

The gym is good but not used very much, so you won't have to wait.

So would I advise you to stay here ? ......... YES

“Good apartments, bad location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2009

I stayed here with my family for few days, we booked 3 bedroom apartment.
This hotel apartment is located in the old and conjunction location in Dubai.
It takes long time to get to the hotel.

Otherwise, the apartments are good and clean, and the staff is great. And the main thing, the rate is unbeatable.

“good hotel and great staff”

there was a big group of us and the staff welcomed us warmly. we would come late at night and the bell hop would come to the car straight away. the apartment was very spacious and had all the right facilities, enough bathrooms and 2 t.v's. there is also a balcony in most of the rooms including the living room.. even the days we didn't go out much were entertaining because of the rooftop where the swimming pool, sauna and gym were. there was also a toddlers play area. and the pancakes for breakfast are delicious.
overall we loved staying in the hotel and the staff were great to us and it was very clean. we are definitaly going to stay in lotus grand the next time we dubai..

“Too far from everything!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2008

This was the first stop on our Dubai/Cairo/Hurghada trip and we wanted to stay in an apartment rather then a hotel. It is very near the airport which was a bonus and has been re vamped except the bathrooms strangley which really does let it down. No real daylight except from very small balcony and hardly any mobile reception. The pool area on the roof is lovely though with a good gym, sauna and steam room. We were very comfortable here as we were out all day and only used it for sleeping. The only real downside was how far it is to get to everything and getting a taxi was sometimes a bit tricky (make sure you have the full address when you want to come home as hardly any taxis knew of it and we spent hours the first night trying to get back). That said don't be persuaded to get a private taxi recommended by the hotel as they can be 3 times the price of a Dubai taxi. And be prepared for the traffic it takes a long time to get everywhere. Would probably not stay here again as it would be better to stay more central.

“Clean and big rooms but completely unpersonal, Breakfast is a joke”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2008

I stayed in the Lotus Grand Hotel for almost two weeks to work in Dubai.
I was in a "single" apartment, nevertheless the rooms are very big, with separate bedrooms, kitches, big living rooms, even two bathrooms and two TV's.
My first room was on on the first floor with practically no daylight at all and no mobile phone reception so I changed for a room on the 5th floor. Still very little daylight even in this room, all single rooms have their windows to a very small courtyard and I felt a bit locked in.

It's difficult to explain, the rooms are clean & big, staff is nice, but I have hardly ever felt so little home in Hotel room where I stayed longer, the room is almost clinical in a way. This is of course my personal opinion, other people may not mind.

Air condition works fine but I actually got headaches from the cold air blowing over my neck in the night.

The "broadband" Internet in the room is ridiculously priced too high, and the bandwith is more like a phone line from the old days. I pad AED 375 for a week which is over 70 Euros--I had no choice but I felt ripped off.

And last not least, the breakfast doesn't deserve this name. Ok, if you like fried potato wedges, bacon and beans for breakfast, fine; but if you prefer european-style bread & cheese it is no fun at all. Croissants are a bit like from the day before, no real bread, not even "brötchen" or rolls, only one or two choices of cheese and those were anything but great. I decided to make my own coffee in the room. Juices are mostly not juices but water mixed with sugar and some flavour.

All in all, this hotel may be an acceptable and clean accomodation--but the subjective comfort factor is pretty low in my opinion. Unfortunately I will have to come back here again to work--I am anything but looking forward to that.
