Disclosures first: I stayed there only a few hours. Arrived late at night on Saturday and checked out for a 10 AM flight on Sunday. When I emailed them, they gave me the price only for a single room (hostel A, 200 AED). When I specifically asked for a room in a dorm they gave me hostel B, and I paid by credit card. It was nearly 30 USD or so. This place seemed like one of the only two options! So I booked it. All I was looking for, was a place to sleep and shower really.
HAving read the reviews here, I walked in with some trepadition, expecting some insults from the reception staff. But they were cordial enough to tell me about the breakfast (free, in my building), and about the internet (I think 5 AED per hour, did not use). Oh yes, the place is VERY very close to the metro station (stadium station I think, or the one before Al Nahda station. Al Nahda is also close enough to walk). I had already paid online, so they took my passport and gave me the key and pointed to the other white building.
There were four beds in the room with an attached shwoer and toiled. The washroom was surprisingly clean enough, and quite large and airy. One roommate complained that on his previous (and only) shower, it had been cold. It was warm enough for me. So we figured that he mgiht have showered at a busy time. There were closets, but you couldnt have locked them. So the storage space was limited. There was a defunct fridge too, in the room. The room was sapacious enough and the bed looked clean. There are 4 people per washroom, so it probbaly doesnt get too busy.
The breakfast: they had me sit at the table and brought some egg, cheeses and spread. I was free to get the arabic breads and tea/ coffee. It was inlcuded in the price. Good enough for me.
When I got out, I was panicking to catch the flight. Got a cab nearby very easily, and paid 20 AED to the airport. So, it is close to the airprot too.
