I stayed at this hotel for three nights. it was pretty much a last minute deal, so ....
i consider myself a very easy going person, i can easily be satisfied about the place i am staying at so long at it doesn't cause me discomfort in any way and as long as the staff and service are good i can forget about other faults of the place.
now about Hallmark hotel.....
well, i try to keep it short. the gist of it is that it's not a very special place. a very average 4 star hotel in Deira area (4 star hotels in Deira are very similar in the kind of services they give you, what makes them better or worse is the quality)
good things about it: the food was very good for my taste, specially the breakfast buffet.
average sized and clean pool on the roof. good for cooling off when you arrive.
bad things: cleanliness was not perfect. i could find spots on my pillow cases and bath towels (not dirty spots, you know... the kind that stays after washing). and they also don't change the sheets when they clean your room (only change them when you check in)
another thing, they don't put slippers in the bathroom. i asked for a pair and they said i should pay 10dhs (3 dollars) for a pair. i have seen this in Dubai before, i wonder what's with them and bathroom slippers?!?! they value it so much!! :)
good or bad (depends on you): the hotel doesn't have a night club. good for me since i don't like the noise at night. (another thing is at the time of my visit there was a construction project going on at the opposite side of the street. not very bothering, but a bit of noise in the morning.)
also, it is a dry hotel. no alcohol is served in the hotel. (and there's no mini bar also)
anyway, i am sure for the same value or only a bit more you can get a better hotel. even in the same class and area which cares just a little more about the way they run their hotel. because that's all it takes!
hope it was useful
