The Country Club Hotel was booked by our travel agents. Since I had seen a 'mixed' opinions on this website and was traveling with a family of five adults [including an old lady of 78], was a bit apprehensive. But what a pleasant experience it turned out to be.

Very comfortable rooms - we were given the rooms on the third floor with a view towards the New Gold Souk. What impressed most was the house keeping [Phillipino room boy?], every day the towels and sheets were changed - probably a luxury even in European and American hotels.

Our hotel booking was on bed and breakfast basis. The breakfast [from 7 to 10 am ] on offer for all the four days we spent, was excellent and whole some. A wide variety of choices with plenty of fruits and friendly staff. Uttappams, Masala dosas, puries and somosas if you care for Indian food.

Though, not very close to any major shopping malls, [Dubai Mall is 18.50 dhms from the hotel] taxis are available all the time at the hotel entrance. By the way, most of the taxi drivers are either Pakistanis or Indians and very friendly. Could not help imagining that if India and Pakistanis can co exist and help the tourism and other industries in Dubai to such great heights, we can achieve a lot if the same is applied in these countries [politicians - are you listening?]

With a helpful Melisa at the reception desk and ever smiling bellboy Kirk, it was a sheer pleasure staying in Country Club Hotel. What we missed by default, probably is the spa and Kerala ayurvedic massages being offered at 50% concession to hotel room guests.

By the way, book on line for better rates and take a cab from outside. If you believe in morning walks, take the route towards Al Karama.

What made our trip to Dubai an excellent experience is the pleasant stay at this hotel.

I am staying here now! Feel would like to leave immediately out from this hotel! I do not recommend it - especially for families!!!!! Very noisy!!!!!!! If you wish to sleep in the night, PLS do not select this hotel! Because sleeping it's not possible in this hotel!! If you make a complain about noisy, you don't get response about it!!! This is not 4 star hotel! The persons at the reception is very rude! Bad customer service!! Pls stay away from this hotel!!

Breakfast was horrible, only thing that tasted edible was the toast. Don't use the airport shuttle, its a rip off, taxis are everywhere and cost about 20-25 AED compared to the 75 AED the hotel charged us. The hotel also ripped us off with the safari tour, they charged us 200 AED per person when it only costs 150 AED, they keep 50 for themselves. They also tried to make us pay 250 AED per person for "5 star" tour when you get the exact same thing as the 200 AED. Most the hotel including the room smell, and the location is in the middle of a construction site away from everything. Also we had to pay a 1000 AED deposit for two nights at 400 AED a night.... then you get refunded. Staff were also rude.

Last summer we stayed in this hotel. definetly not a 4 star hotel. It can be 3 star. as most of the area is occupied by rooms only. Breakfast arrangements were very good & it was complementry, we stayed 5 nights there. As I am royal resorts goa member so the booking and check in process was smooth and got a nice welcome. front office and hotel staff was very helping nature and polite (I like this very much in this hotel). Location wise also not a bad choice.can't expect all hotels in the mid city. it cost 10 /12 Dhs by taxi to any nearest Metro station. taxi is available easly. hotel loby has the desk for city tour and other tour packages , you can enquire and book through them. Disco / bar & Restaurant are average and I think it is slightly expensive, i think this is due to 4 star ratings. - Overall a nice stay with nice peoples.
