This hotel was recommended to us by our travel agent as a good stopover hotel to spend a couple of nights in Dubai while en route from Australia to the UK. Outwardly it didn't look particularly modern but inside there was a small reception area with a lounge and to one side the dining room. Our room was at the back of the hotel overlooking a mosque while our friend's was also at the back of the hotel but in this case overlooking the backs of the rooms at the front of the hotel. There was a mini-bar in each room, the one in our friend's room was faulty as the bottles of water were frozen solid. The top of covers on the twin beds were not particularly clean whilst the bathroom had seen better days. The toilet paper holder held the only toilet roll, there being no spare available and the next day we had to go and ask for a roll since the holder had not been replenished.
Breakfast was adequate and bread etc. was kept under covers. If you expect Western standards here, you'll probably be dissappointed. Position-wise, it's not in a particularly clean area, the passageway adjacent to the hotel which leads through towards the mosque, disgustingly so. I cannot honestly recommend this hotel (except perhaps to my travel agent!)
