Advantages:
1. Extremely surprised about the +ve help received from receptionsit (Mohammed & Franalee) & bell boy (Dantye) upon check-in.
2. Was allocated an extremely spacious, quiet & clean studio on 4th floor (looks renovated).
3. I've observed that all staff are helpful, quiet and willing to assist in whatever way they are able to.
4. 10 minutes walking distance to Naif souq and 5 minutes to Union square Metro station (if you like walking).
Disadvantages:
1. Only one small elevator.
2. Shower water pressure low and supplying hot water.
3. No nearby car parking except for 2 cars making it a bit difficult for even finding taxis as the traffic usually goes a long distance far away from the hotel's main entrance.
4. Room lighting is low (dull).

As an overall, I hope that what I got is not only by luck due to a low demanding season. Otherwise, I will always keep this hotel on the top of my priority list when I think to visit Dubai once again.

Excellent bang for buck. Good location in Diera. Easy walk to some local kabab places. Separate bedroom from living room, full kitchen facilities (stove, fridge, pots, kitchen ware, etc.) TV with local cable, good water-pressure for showers, clean, gorgeous front-desk receptionist :-)

We stayed two nights at this hotel in Duabai. We think the hotel room was ok but the breakfast was terrible as they didn't have any fruits, it was really poor.

We don't reccommend this hotel because we believe there are better hotels at the same level in Dubai.

OK, we had a problem with our hotel reservation and needed a place to stay for one night. Our travel agent got us - at the last minute (and from the airport) - one night at the Oriental Palace. One night was more than enough. The location is OK, in central Deira. Not one of the better sections of Deira, but a short walk from shopping, restaurants, etc.
Reception was well below average; took too much time to check in. Staff was much more interested in getting money for our stay than in making our stay enjoyable.
Room was small with older, not really nice furniture. Not particularly clean, but not really dirty either. Bed was soft; linens old. Other furniture was OK; everything was old/worn, but relatively functional. Bathroom was a bit dingy and could use a long visit by the hotel staff.
Clientele was a mixed bag. Some businessmen and some tourists. If you think the reception area should look/feel like the local suq/market, you will be in heaven. Not the best place to stay with your wife/girl and definately not a place for unaccompanied women.
While not a dump, this is not one of the better places for tourists and many businessmen. This could be the place for you if you're a unaccompanied male looking for a relatively cheap place to stay in central Deira. Otherwise, there are MUCH better choices for a few dollars/dirhams more.
