Stayed here for 2 nights for a stopover enroute to Australia.
We just wanted a cheap option to experience the sights of Dubai without paying the extreme prices of hotels in the Jumeirah Beach area. The Dubai Nova Hotel was perfect for this, clean and comfortable and in a fantastic location just a few minutes walk from souks and the creek, where you can catch an Abra (traditional arabic boat) across to the Gold and Spice Souks, 1 UAE Dirham - approx £0.17p. Also a stones throw from the Dubai Museum which is worth a look.
The breakfast caters for the middle eastern market, if you want English food, stay in England!!!!!
In the evening the area around the hotel really came to life will the locals. The mosque is nearby and the sound of the worship carries down the streets, and you know you are in the real/traditional part of the city.
We pre booked a couple of excursions before we travelled and were picked up and dropped off at the hotel with no problems. The Desert Safari is a must, and the Dhow Cruise is a great way to relax with diner in the evening.
A taxi to the public Jumeirah Beach will set you back about 40 UAE Dirham - approx £7 each way.
I would recommend this hotel for a stopover, however if you are staying longer, perhaps on a holiday in Duabi, then you may want to look at alternatives.
