This hotel is very miss leading, as from the photographs on the internet it looks very modern, however, looks in this case are certainly deceptive. We booked a Polo Club room, which in fairness the bedroom was large and the beds were very very comfortable, but the bathroom really let the room down. The bath was very small (i am only 5'2) and very scratched and dirty, with mould around the seals, the handrail on the wall was nearly hanging off as was the soap dish, all things really that could be put right with a little elbow grease and a screwdriver.
Also our room on 3 days out of 4 was not serviced until after 3.30 each day not a lot of good when you have been out all day and want to rest in the afternoon.
The food we had on the whole was very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The Polo Club lounge serves complimentary drinks from 6 pm until 8 pm but there is no atmosphere in the place, and no canapés or nibbles (other than dates and nuts) cheese and biscuits, sandwiches, or anything in fact are offered, which i am sure if this was rectified more people would use the facility
We would however not really choose to stay in Deira again as it looks very old and dated compared to other areas of Dubai, and if we are honest we wouldn't stay at The Marco Polo again either.
Room Tip: Choose a Polo Club room on the 4th floor but only if you want the free drinks.

Housekeeping Department and Engineering have both been alerted to the issues you have raised and we intend to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible.
