A nine night stay, very good value for what was paid. The staff were almost too helpful from porters to the reception staff and the maids were brilliant in cleaning up the rooms well. Even when one time they had forgot to leave fresh towels a quick ring to housekeeping and within two mins a knock on the door and the maid brought towels and soaps. Very good service.
Didn't use the internet so cannot comment on this.
On site Red lion and Sky Garden were nice good atmosphered bars and the pool and gym were useful and clean.

We stayed here over New Year and found the rooms comfortable and clean. We found the service good even though the hotel was pretty busy over New Year. We didn't have any problems with noise and Housekeeping and was super quick. We were traveling with young children and you can fit one child in the fold out sofa but be warned, it takes up a lot of space in the room and isn't quite big enough for 2 children.

The hotel has been around since the 70s so not as modern as other hotels but that's actually quite refreshing after a while in Dubai where everything is the biggest / newest / tallest/ shiniest. And the Burj Khalfa and Dubai Mall are just down the road.

The Italian and Indian restaurants in the hotel both served good food. The Rattle Snake is well known in Dubai but that seedier side of the hotel is separate enough not to bother most guests too much.

Happy Hour at the Red Lion (Dubai's oldest pub) was a favourite with my husband and Dad. The pool is not in the main hotel area but at the residence next and we didn't actually find it until the last day of our trip, which was a shame.

Stayed at Metropolitan for one night only. The room was clean as was the bathroom. As other reviewers have noted, the decor is a bit dated. The superior room was a reasonable size, with a sofa and a table. Bed was comfortable. The room location was disappointing - it was on the ground floor and faced an alleyway, so preferred to keep the curtains closed. Also at night time, some people would walk past talking loudly. Location next to Sheik Zayed highway is a positive, but the road designs meant that you sometimes had to travel a distance in order to go in the opposite direction.

Parking options are valet parking or paid street parking. Internet was charged for, so didn't bother with it.
