“Worst hotel ever, do not stay here!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2011

The hotel is full of hookers with a disco that goes on to the late hours of the morning. I was staying on the forth floor and it could be heard. When you phone reception you are just fobbed off and told it will stop soon. The lobby at night is covered with middle aged men coming to pick up hookers. A friend of mine came to visit me in the hotel and the following day I realised I had been charged £40 for this. Even though I had booked a double room and was by myself. When I talk to the recpetion about they were extremly rude and unhelpful. I have stayed in many hotels but this was by far the worst. The staff were extremly rude and the service was even worse.

Dear Mr.Speedy864,

With regards to your comments during your stay at the Avari Dubai Hotel, please note the following:

o The night clubs have done a complete sound proofing work during the month of Ramadan which has reduced the noise level considerably.
o There is an additional charge which is applicable for an extra person in the room. This is hotel policy.
o I have personally addressed the matter, which involved the reception staff and we apologize for any inappropriate behavior from our side.

We look forward to see you again at the Avari Hotel in Dubai.

its an amzing hotel.,though 4 star i guess its service is better than most 5 stars. All rooms look into the atrium unlike opening in conventional corridors which i found to be very safe as i was a single 23 year old who often returned hotel late at nite.the staff was very helpful n courtious.last time i stayed wid family,we missed our flight n had to stay for 2 night without any money left, they helped ud n we later payed thruogh avari lahore.this time i forgot my passport in the hotel n called from the airport n they prompty sent it.the crowd is good n its great in all ways.Rooms r very comfortable n clean n all windows have remote control blackouts.

“Would have been 4 stars, but the admin side was poor!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 April 2011

Me and my parents took a 4 night trip to Dubai. We decided to stay in the Avari hotel as it was close to a metro station. First the good! The Avari is a decent 4 star hotel. The rooms were good, the buffet breakfasts were good, and the location was spot on – just a few minutes walk from the metro station. The massages are not bad either!

However, there is bad! Their administration in terms of settling the bill is awful. We had paid Ebookers for the trip and did not owe them anything for the accommodation. On checking in they took our credit card details – a standard procedure for security purposes I thought.

However, when returning home and checking our credit card statement, they had taken the money! We had double paid this – through Ebookers, correctly and through the hotel itself incorrectly! Since returning home I have been emailing Ebookers to get this resolved and they have identified that Avari were at fault.

At the moment, they are trying to sort this out, but I have just taken matters in to my own hands and called them. Maybe its just my impatience, but the frustrations are getting the better of me. They said they will look into this I will need to call them back tomorrow.

Its just over a month since checking out and I am still no nearer to getting my money back. I only hope that I can update this review very soon and confirm a refund from them very soon.

Overall the Avari is not a bad hotel, but their admin side leaves a lot to be desired. Probably best to book directly and not through a third party.
