My wife and I stayed at the Arabian Court at the One & Only Royal Mirage on our first visit to Dubai this February 2012. We have stayed at many lovely hotels in our time but this place tops the lot. A place of absolute tranquility in the midst of the hustle and bussle of Dubai. The staff and management of this hotel are second to none. The attention to detail is faultless. The food is fantastic with a different restaurant available every night, as long as you're happy to pay for it mind you, but hey, what price quality! If you're into your sport the guys round the pool will be happy to keep you occupied all day with sports activities.
We took a trip out to the Burj al Arab for cocktails and, I jest not, we couldn't wait to get back to the One & Only for some peace and tranquillity, such is the brashness of that place....
If I had to make one critiicism, and I'm loath to do so, it would be the allowance of 155 dirhams per person if you eat at the non-half-board allocated restaurants (I'm sure this is not the right term for it but I hope you know what I mean). This is quite low, having said that the food at the allocated restaurants is superb as well. It's just that the various restaurants on the complex are just too inviting too ignore.
All-in-all a very memorable trip made all the better by the aptly named One & Only....
