“Good for a short stay”

Stayed here for 1 nights and hotel served the purpose. Clean and basic. Breakfast was ok, enough to fill you up. For a 2 star hotel its good. Front desk was a little difficult to communicate with at times but helpful. Mall of emirates is a 5 minute walk. There were water bottle dispensers in the room floor.Everywhere is a max 20-30 mins (10-15 euro). Desert safari is nice to do. Burj Khalifa is impressive. Dubai is nice for a couple of days. If back again would stay at Ibis for a short stay

“Great location”

Stayed here two nights prior to taking a Royal Caribbean cruise on Jan 16, 2012. The place is a very clean, no frills hotel. It was two blocks from the Mall of Emirates. What I really liked about this place was the free wi-finin the lobby, but wished it was available free of charge in the rooms. I also loved the fact that they have a 24hr restaurant. The meals were reasonably priced around $15 or so for an entree and $8 for desserts. A can of soda was about $4. Save your money and go to the hybermart inside the mall and purchase a six pack for about $3.00. The market is just like a superwalmart. They have everything in there.

The lobby area is very trendy and they also have 2 computers you can use. Taxi are so cheap, no spot is a bad place to be. I would recommend this hotel.

My husband and I had a bad & humiliated experience with this hotel and the nextdoor Novotel Mall Of The Emirates.

Hotel Ibis and Novotel Mall Of The Emirates are basically under one roof linked by their restaurants. I booked & prepaid 4 nights (with breakfast included) with Ibis for last December and then found out that the hotel room was not what I wanted I then booked 4 nights with Novotel (without breakfast ) which is the nextdoor partner hotel. As the Ibis' booking could not be refunded and it was relatively cheap, I then kept both booking meaning I have a room in Ibis ( with breakfast) and a room in Novotel.

On arrival I checked in both hotels although there were only 2 of us, I could still utilize the breakfast in Ibis but staying in Novotel.

There came the problem. The restaurant staff stopped us at the restaurant and accused us of having breakfast at Ibis as Novotel guests. They insisted we should pay the Novotel breakfast if we stayed at Novotel even we ate at Ibis. I explained my situation slowly and clearly to the staff but with no success. They did not understand me. I then asked to speak to the manager on duty & one male restaurant staff said there was no need and he was the in charge!! I then explained the whole situation to him again and guess what. He kept nodding his head but still insisted that we paid Novotel the breakfast we had in Ibis. The tour guide and bus had been waiting for me to start the tour, the staff refused to let me go and insisted I was doing something wrong.

Next morning I went up to the Ibis counter & reported to the manager. He checked my bookings in both Ibis & Novotel and assured me we could have breakfast in Ibis without problem.

My experience had left me humiliated in front of everyone at the restaurant. They were rude especially the male restaurant staff who claimed to be the in charge.The staff were obviously not capable of dealing situations.

I have been a loyal Accor member for a decade but there is no way I would go back to these 2 hotels.

“No non-smoking room availble”

Good location, but found out only at checkin that there were no non-smoking rooms available.
Beyond that the hotel is ok, simple, but as expected.

It was not at all a good experience staying at Ibis Mall of the Emirates, Dubai. Hotel location is good. Mall of the Emirates is on the other side of road and is about 5 mins walk. Front desk staff (Ms. Yogita) was very nice n helpful but the hotel itself is not up to the mark. To start with hotel room is too small with no mini bar. There is just a hand wash liquid in bathroom on the name of bathroom amenities which has to be used both for bathing n washing hands. Size of the bathroom itself is too small. No tissue was provided in bathroom. Very limited choice of channels on TV and most of the available channels are in Arabic.
While checking in it was told that common PC (2 nos) in lobby can be used for free for accessing the internet but the next day, it was told to us to buy internet pack.
Price of the room service was exorbitantly high, may be more than a 5 star hotel. One bottle of water, which is AED1.5 in market they are charging AED 15 and it took 30 mins to get the water in room. There is neither any bathrobe, nor any sleepers or tea coffee making facility in the room.
All in all it seems more like a hotel with 2 star facilities at the price of 4 star. Room tariff is way on the higher side comparing to the provided facilities. There are many hotels and hotel apartments in the vicinity of this hotel which are much cheaper and provide more facilities and amenities than this property. Better to give it a pass and to choose other hotels around Mall of the Emirates.
