Stayed in Jan 2011. Hotel shuttle 150 Dirhams(approx £28) was ok but taxi would be about half the price. Hotel is basic. 3 floor building, part of knowledge village, the home of university offices. No facilities unless you want to have a meeting. They could have made one room a small gym! Can't walk far but plenty of cheap clean taxis, trip to mall of emirates 20 Dirhams (£3.60). Metro trains are 10 min walk (don't do it in extreme heat). You will need a map! Dubai is huge and varied. The map makes it look smaller. But 2.2 million people take up a lot of space. Next to hotel they are building the next big development, PEARL DUBAI. it's huge! So will only get worse around that area. Close to the coast but not the beach. You will have to get a taxi EVERY time you leave the hotel. The rooms are big but who sounds their vacation in a room. Also room has a free safe, mini bar/fridge, but no kettle/ tea coffee facility. There is Internet in room by cable only. NO WIFI NO GYM NO POOL in the middle of NOWHERE. Ask yourself what you want from your stay. If it's the Knowledge Village location. Try the HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS first. I'm an airline employee, so take my advice. thanks and enjoy DUBAI.
